Tourist Inn Grand

The reception got in touch with me before arrival, giving various advice, also about getting here, since the street in front is too narrow for a car. Check-in was easy. My compliments to the three ladies from the Philippines, who in turns took care of the reception: Juju, Nadine and Ira. They were very friendly and also very professional. My room, a Superior Double Room, was on the fifth floor. It was pleasant and had all I needed. The view wasn't that great, but not much can be expected in the middle of Male city with its relatively tall buildings and rather narrow streets full of motorbikes. The bathroom was fine too, also WiFi and A/C worked well. It had a full minibar, which I didn't use, but it was also the only hotel out of five on my trip, where the water bottles were not offered for free. Attached to the hotel is the small Café de Grand, where breakfast is served. Although it is mentioned in the menu card, they didn't have the Maldivian breakfast, so I went elsewhere for it. On the other hand I could have here a Maldivian dinner: Noodles with Valhomas, that typical cured tuna. And as a dessert a Falooda, served in a tall glass and a straw, consisting of ice cream, strawberries and apple pieces among other things.
