You need to hire a car to move around, room is large with attached toilet, the room is clean, bed sheet has stained and not very clean, good air con, hot water in the shower, wifi is weak inside the room, towel is not clean, overall reasonably price, near to restaurants and food outlets

The deluxe room we paid for had no windows!It was too humid inside, only with the air-con on all night the towels and other stuff got dry.Close to the old city centre

Amaras Motel is a simple but enough comfortable hotel. There are a few options of restaurants, markets, free shops and laundry nearby. Room is not the best but is ok for the price. No windows, no room service. Quiet, good shower and enough space. Is a good value if you are in a budget.

Ok for the price

The hotel isn't anything special. The bed was okay. A cup was provided but no coffee making facilities. When I asked if I could have an electric kettle I was told they did not have one. No toiletries provided except soap and towel. No toilet paper provided. There were shops to buy things but not really anything else near by.

Bed was okay but hotel far from everything

convenient location to ferry terminal.Poor reception lady services!! She asked me to leave luggages even just 20 minutes to 2pm when there are plenty of rooms ready to use (13:40). Fortunately hotel manager offered me a room immediately.Wifi only at lobby, the reception lady requested for my booking slip again when I was about to head out. Her attitude was poor that saying she doubted if I have paid online with hotels.com. Come on!!

Fine location but poor reception

Overall is was nice but then this motel lack for room service amenities. you will only provided by soap and towel one time only during staying, they done even change the towel, bed sheet and first night we don't even get pillowcase. Luckily the pillow is not smelly.

Good Motel if you are backpackers.

I choose this hotel based on the distance from the jetty since I knew we would be walking. We walked and ended up at the Amara Guesthouse because the location of the hotel points somewhere farther up from that hotel. This is not the location you must continue over the bridge and it is right on the left after crossing the bridge. The staff at Amara Guesthouse were helpful to point us in the right direction. Once we arrived we were checked in and went up to our room. The internet would not work in our room at all so that was a little frustrating. The room was clean and well kept. The TV only had less than seven channels and most were not in English. We stayed two nights at this hotel and then tried something different because the internet was not working in our room. The location of the motel is located very nicely and you can research many of the duty free shops if you are looking for that. We rented a motorbike so that helped a lot to get around the island. It was a nice stay however; I would look for something cheaper. Staff were great and always friendly. Also, check out the street market on Saturday it is located right beside the bridge.

Good Location!

Pillow covers were missing, toilet could have been cleaned better. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. One evening around 3am some outsider walked in to find his mate, woke entire hotel up and night stuff did not regulate the situation. Another morning 4.30am bunch of people came and did not settle in until 7am. Kids ran around, loud conversations carried in common grounds. Responsive night workers would be appreciated. Rooms are in reasonable size.
