El studio is located in kuah, langkawi which is a little away from the beaches but you can easily rent motorcycles for a super affordable price nearby but i hadn't need to do such because the host of the hostel(shoutout to amelia) spent time with us showing around, bringing us to the beaches and even partying with us.  There was another host, a bald man but i've forgot his name 😂

Friendly host and travellers

I stayed at El Studio almost a week. I had an amazing time exploring beautiful Langkawi with awesome and super friendly hosts! El Studio is a must if you want the real local experience with cool, open-minded management; Amelia and Vinsen were the best.

El studio is that it is a tiny hostel located in Kuah. Conveniently close to the center and to the pier, you can rent an affordable bike which you will need to get around at the pier. 

You go to El studio to meet people and locals, create memories and share fun moments together! In that sense, it is perfect for solo backpackers and groups of friends.

A week at El Studio

It was comfortable living in this hostel. it's quite spacious here, I could even do a set of exercises in the morning. I could also make my own simple food, there are some dishes for this. And of course, the atmosphere is friendly and cheerful, but does not interfere with restful sleep.

Good place

This hostel is really nice, I slept so well over there and I really liked the atmosphere! The room is really luminous and everything was clean
You even have a drinking water tap available!! 
And if possible, spend some time with the girl in charge, Amelia! she's just amazing and funny! I'm sure she'll love to share some roti if she has the time!and she's really reliable about the island and what to do (food, kayak, beaches, cruises,...)

Kuah is the main city of Langkawi, the nearest point to stay when you arrive with the ferry.
There is not really beaches around the city but you can easily reach them by grab or renting a motorbike (or bicycle if you are sportive type) - who offer you a lot of freedom on the island ^^
And this is the best choice if you want to avoid the most touristy places and enjoy a lot the local food (about that, try Arked pokok at 2 minutes walking, The pan mee are fresh and just amazingly delicious!) And if you are lucky to come during Ramadan, Kuah is one of the best bazaar Ramadhan I went to!! So be prepared to put on some weight XD

Good choice in Kuah!

Clean showers, comfy beds, amazing staff, free wifi and lots more, what else for this price? even the place that is not the usual tourist one, offer much to actually discover the real everyday Langkawi life.

definitely good value for money

Comfortable ambience, relaxing atmosphere and friendly arrangements. It was located in Kush town and nearby all necessary shops from food to laundry. 

It is an open concept hostel and is well maintained, clean and cozy.

Best hostel to stay in Kuah town Langkawi

Not too far from the pier (if you want a ferry to Penang or Koh Lipe). Quite easy to find (you should ask locals near the hostel because it located on 2nd floor with a narrow staircase)
The hostel offers you the price about 20 myr per night if booking via Hostelworld. Such a good price for a clean, tidy, cozy and spacious place. And it smelled good for me. 
The hostel offers you a lot of tour information. You can do some volunteer work for free beds. I was really impressed. 

Dear Jeremy, I've got some ideas/ suggestions:
- how about installing urinals to save water?
- that your bed was directly opposite to the WC and I felt somehow inconvenient, so, can you make a partly wall or curtain to separate the 2 areas?

Best dorm in my trip

What a place. From the minute I walked in to the moment I walk out I was very impressed with the place.
I have been travelling for a while around south east asia and it was great to find a budget place that allowed their guests to have their own food there. They have a fridge, a toaster, a kettle and a rice cooker!
My host - Jeremy was amazing. Very helpful and super friendly. Learnt a lot about the island from him.
The place is an open planned Studio - hence the name and it's very social. A bit out of the way but easy to fix by having your own motorbike. 
I found this place great for digital nomads like myself - great internet, great lighting and great people.
The place could do with some more tables and plugs, maybe some curtains on the beds. but - didn't really bother me at all.
If you're on a budget and want to move away from the touristy 
Beach this is definitely the place for you to check out! 

Interesting and very homie place

Nice place to stay in kuah town. In the center of kuah. Night market is also on walking distance. The management is good. You will get a number of free/discounted offers in this place. There are alot of restaurant just next to the place. So you’ll get everything you need.

Best place to stay in kuah

At first glance, this very basic hostel seemed good. It was clean, the guy at reception was really welcoming and we had a really good meal just round the corner. 

BUT... When it came to trying to sleep there were a number of issues; the room is very hot, the reception light still illuminates the room, there is no privacy what so ever, the noise from the street outside is non stop, there is a Hindu temple a few doors down which was booming noise from 8am-10pm, I had to fix both toilets as the tanks were broken, the beds aren't comfy, the pillow and blanket provided are rubbish, the bed is like a child's bunk bed...... the list goes on. 

Was planning on staying here 2 nights but we are now moving hostels for the second night as I've slept for about 20 minutes in total. 

There is no nightlife in this area apart from a few restaurants. The nearest beach is quite a while away.
