I can’t thank folks at Le Karthala enough for their help at the beginning of our journey. We arrived on very late AF flight and they were happy to arrange for a reasonably priced taxi waiting for us at the airport. We were welcomed warmly despite the late hour and everyone being already asleep. As we were leaving early next morning, they woke up before dawn to assure we have breakfast waiting before our journey. 
They also helped us with awkward Cotisse tickets that need to be collected before the journey; something we couldn’t do ourselves due to late arrival and early departure next day. All communication via email in English was prompt and helpful.
Room was modest but sufficient and good deal for money. Good location for Cotisse.
Brownie points for amazing hospitality and helpful attitude. 

Helpful and accommodating 

With my family have slept on attic's room steepy up the building. Was clean but nothing more. Good localisation, but not worth the price. Founded much better option for less money same in center. Breakfast as everywhere. Simple and fast. Nothing special.

Low range

We ended up here as the hotel where we've stayed before was full. The price was double (100.000Ar for a family room) compared with where we've stayed before but we thought it's fine as there are 2 rooms actually and the breakfast is included. It was too expensive for what we got in the end.

The simple beds are not good (you can feel the bed structure under the old mattress) and not very stable as I was afraid I will end up on the floor. The windows are not closing very well (none of them) and there are not nets so we had a lot of mosquitoes which was very annoying. It was also really cold during the night. The wall outlet was requiring some efforts to successfully plug something in it. The breakfast was really minimal: tea/coffee, bread, butter and honey.

The owners are nice people and they will help you with what you need but there's no English and also the French is hard to understand. We went out in town and it was already dark outside (7PM) so we needed a taxi - one of them came with 3-400m to help us get a taxi.

Wi-Fi was not working at the 2nd floor where our room was but they have a nice place in their small yard where you can stay.

Initilly it looks nice and cosy like grandma's home but everything needs replacing or repairing
