Youth Hostel Vianden

Amazingly nice staff. They even let me borrow their charger when I forgot mine. Location could not be more perfect, only a 3 minute walk from Vianden Castle. I went in winter so it was a little empty but very clean and did the job. Great value for money.

I stayed for 1 night and managed to have the entire 8 bed room to myself! The man at the front desk was exceptionally kind and helpful, offered a map of the city and answered all my questions. It was quite an uphill trek to get to the hostel but once you got there it's only a short 5 minute walk to get to castle Vianden. Check out before 10 and complimentary breakfast served until 9. I could not recommend this place highly enough it truly exceeded my expectations.

The hostel is close to the castle and several wonderful hill paths radiating out. If you are a trekking fan, quite a place to be. Views are lovely especially when it snows; the dormitory has big lockers to keep your stuff (make sure you bring your padlocks), and the hostel is cheap, even more so if you are a member of HI (or any of their local branches). The best part is those who run the place; I had lovely conversations, and they even could make for me a lovely vegetarian meal on request. Vianden is a lovely little town, and this place is equally lovely and spacious.

20 euro for nice big 4-bed room with breakfast. Great location vis-a-vis castle. Room was clean, and common bathroom as well. Breakfast very good. Hotels in Vianden are very expensive, so it is good alternative.

Great Location Amazing Staff

Wonderful all around

A very well-located hostel run by wonderful staff

Great place!

I stayed here with friends for 2 nights in a 12 person dorm. The hotel is located on a nice location (2 minutes walking distance to the castle and 5 minutes to the center). Except for the castle, Vianden hasn't have a lot to offer. Our room was clean but my matras was terribly hard, I barely slept. Also there were too few electricity sockets in the room. The room had enough lockers though and the bath room facilities were good and clean. Breakfast was simple (bread, cheese, ham, honey, nutella and some cereals) but good. The staff was very friendly and helpfull! We paid €45 per person for two weekend nights which is a fair price. It would have been a great hostel if the bed wasn't so uncomfortable.

Nice location, friendly staff, uncomfortable beds

Because of my reluctance to sleep in a dormitory (with the possibility of snorers) I payed a supplement. So for about €40 you get a room, still have to make your bed yourself, no luxury at all (No towels, wifi only in restaurant). The breakfast contained of Milk, Cereal some ham and cheese, the bread itself had hard crusts as if it was bought last week (and kept open on a cupboard).
