Maylay Guesthouse

We loved staying here so much that we extended our stay for a few extra nights. As budget backpackers, this was perfect. It is very central but not loud at night. The owner is lovely and very accommodating. Rooms are basic but quite spacious. Breakfast is handy- eggs and bread.

This was the best hotel we stayed at during our trip to Laos. The staff was friendly, breakfast was pretty good. And most importantly, it was clean. Would stay again!

Staff at the reception was amazing, helped us with train tickets and everything else. Rooms are very basic but ideal for a 2-night stay. Close to all the bars and restaurants.

The family who run this guesthouse are very accomodating and friendly. It's possible to book tours and buses through them which is very convenient. Breakfast is as you'd expect in Laos, bread with eggs and some cereal and fruit but done well and good portions, included in the price too! Room was very spacious and perfect location, very central but we didn't have any noise at night at all. Good Aircon, safe in the room, and cleaning service offered every day. Very much enjoyed our stay here. My only negative comment would be that we booked our hot air balloon ride through the guesthouse staff and it was a really negative experience. We didn't go over Vang Vieng and we were told it would be 30-35 mins and only went up for 15 mins. We didn't go high at all and just saw the tops of trees. Not the owners fault but I would go through another company if you are considering it. Other than this, the most ideal place to stay!  

Great location. All we needed in the room. Friendly hosts and the best breakfast we have had in Laos.

This guesthouse was a great little gem in Vang Vieng.  It is right in the centre of town close where everything is within easy walking distance, but located on a quiet side street which made it quiet at night for sleeping.  It is run by a very kind and warm Laotian gentleman.  I stayed in a Standard Double room that was bright, spacious, immaculately clean and very quiet at night.  The room also included a high tech safe and all necessary amenities.  The breakfast was amazing.  It was a hybrid of a la carte and buffet.  Fruits and juices were buffet which was also accompanied by an a la carte selection of various egg dishes and an entire fresh French baguette.  Breakfast on the outdoor terrace was fast, delicious, and impeccably clean.  I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely stay here again.

Maylay guesthouse was very pleasant and clean.  The staff were very helpful and accommodating.  We stayed 3 nights because they were close to everything (small town) and there's lots to see in the area.
Breakfast is good, but repetitive (theres only so much you can do with 2 eggs).

Loved everything about this guesthouse.  The staff are all gentle, polite and  helpful.  Breakfast is awesome and includes a huge warm crusty bun with real butter, eggs and help yourself fruit and juice, tea, coffee.  Rooms are a good size with a fridge and safe.  They will help you with booking tours and onward travel.  Laundry service.  You can walk to every thing in town. The guesthouse suggested we rent a scooter just around the corner,  RG Adventure.  We highly recommend them.  Bikes were reliable and most importantly they accepted a drivers license as security, every one else in town wanted your passport which is always risky to leave anywhere. 
Stay at this guesthouse, you won't be disappointed.   Good value and highly recommended.

Wonderful and friendly guesthouse 

Nice Gem in Centre of Vang Vieng

Wonderful 

The guesthouse was very good, clean and comfortable spacious rooms. Then service was friendly and the staff welcoming and very helpful in booking buses to our next location. The guesthouse was very close to the main town area however the local power grid kept having problem solved during the wet weather which meant we had two power cuts in a theee day stay, one which lasted majority of the day. This however was not the guesthouse fault and they were very apologetic for this. Overall very good and clean and comfortable. Perfect for a few days stay.

Maylay guesthouse is conveniently located near many options for dining/ bars/ coffee shops.

Lovely little guesthouse to stay in for a few nice. Very basic accommodation but you get what you pay for so if you’re looking for 5 stars this isn’t it, however I enjoyed my stay for the night

My stay was better than expected, It was a convenient stop to break my journey. However, the town is better suited for younger traveler’s.
