The staff were more than helpful with my late check in and lack of speaking Japanese. The room was lovely and had aircon. The breakfast was the most amazing breakfast you could possibly have. Highly recommended. 

Lovely staff and amazing traditional accommodation 

I've been to many onsens and ryokans in Japan and Kiraku definitely leaves a deep impression. It's not your typical 5 star luxury hotel nor one of those huge ryokans. Instead Kiraku has limited rooms and is very quaint and homely and you are treated like VIPs. The staff are all very helpful and hospitable. The ryokan is located a fair bit away from the train station (maybe 15-20 mins walk if you don't stop to shop) but it's a nice walk along the stream and it is also nearer the public onsens that are further from the main street. There are also some of the retro game stores and other small shops along the street outside, although everything close pretty early in this little town. 

The room is very spacious and although traditional, not old. The window overlooks the quiet street outside and it felt like we've travelled back in time. As part of our package, we also rented the private bath, and love the wooden feel and privacy of it, unlike the crowded public baths! The crab dinner was awesome (I never had so much crab in my whole life before) and the breakfast was very sumptuous as well!

Absolutely love this quaint ryokan with excellent service!

Very transitional type of Japanese style accommodation.  The host and hostess are nice and helpful. That 5 courses meal with their famous seasonal crabs was absolutely enjoyable.  The service was excellent and all my family felt being respected as honourable guests.  Dinner and breakfast were setup in front of us.  The room was good size, clean and well decorated.  Nice walk to nearby onsen and daily passes were well prepared for us.  That transitional Japanese dresses are warm and stylish.  Definitely will visit this place again.

Absolutely enjoyable and highlight of our trip

No need to pre-book hotel shuttle.  There is always a bus waiting at the train station for guests who are going to hotels located on the main street.  Walking is actually OK unless one has large and heavy luggages.  Room is fair size and comfortable.  Since hotel onsen is small (this applies to all onsen hotels on the main treet), most guests would use the free pass provided by the hotel to visit the public baths. It might be somewhat inconvenient and even annoying if the wether is poor (rining or heave snow or freezing cold) Fortunately, the weather is not bad during our stay.  Dinner is good and the breakfast is OK. The small town itself worths exploring (takes 2 or 3 hours to walk through the town including  visits to some nice handicrafts shops) Went to a cafe which is very close to the train station for lunch.  Food is surprisingly good.(one of the set lunches ordered is raw beef salad which is tasty)

The service was good, the room was fine, the meal was delicious but the place reeks of sewage at the entrance and in the hallway and also in the room. They are aware of this issue as they used a lot of incense to try to cover it up but its pretty noticeable.

Kinosaki is a great place for tourists who are interested at old- Japaneses styles, and cultures. When I walked out the JR station, I took a deep breathe, there were few tourists in Kinosaki, very quiet and comfortable. 
Before the trip, I found so many hotels in Kinosaki, finally, I decided to stay at Kiraku Hotel, because this hotel was so traditional and it just have 12 rooms only. The receptionists were 1 old lady and 1 old man, they could not speak English, but they were still being so nice to us. After checked-in, another old lady introduced the hotel to us, and brought us to the room. The room was not too big, but it was very clean. The meals were so delicious. Do not miss the rent Spring in Kiraku, its privacy. For the 7 public hot springs in Kinosaki, 鴻之湯 was I love the most, It was a outdoor hot springs with a garden view, I thought it will be more excellent in winter. although it was a public hot spings, everywhere were so tidy and clean.
First of all, you have to practice the Japanese before you go Kinosaki, because most of the people cannot speak English.
If I have a chance to go Kinosaki again, I must stay at Kiraku one more time.

Traditional, Warm and Relax!!

It was the first time we stayed in this kind of accommodation. During our stay we were pampered by our hostess who brought us breakfast and dinner and make the futon for us. The dinner in Kaiseki style (equivalent to the western Haute Cuisine) which was composing of many kind of fresh seafood was scrumptious! Our hostess who speaks no English at all was welcoming and performs very well her duty. The rest of the staff were also nice. They also remembered that we were not used to walking in the Geta (clog) so they provided us with the lower ones each time we were out for a walk. Kiraku is only a few steps away from Goshono-Yu bath house, Mandara-Yu and Kouno-yu. We paid 35600 JPY /night for 3 pax this rate include breakfast and dinner. I think it was really worth it.
