Etchu Yatsuo Base OYATSU

It is our second visit to Oyatsu and stayed at this historic Stone House Inn. One would have thought that there might not be so much to write about since it is a revisit, but how wrong this assumption turned out to be. We discovered more this visit, peeling off another layer from our first visit. Behind the Inn there lies a great Soba maker who runs his own restaurant. Usually open for lunch, you could catch him making his soba in the morning ready to be cooked for the lunch crowd. Come evening, there is a couple that runs a sushi restaurant. It doesn't carry a very big signboard, thus can easily go unnoticed. My, they have the freshest stuff they gently make into a sushi -and the accompanying hot sake is a treat whenever the evening cools down. The Inn itself has its unique charms and ambiance - the old LP player with jazz music, ample washroom and modern shower-rooms., Couple with the ever-hospitable hostess Sayuri and host Yudai - it is an awesome place to be in. Make this your base whenever you visit Toyoma. You will never be disappointed. Even it you have been here before.
