Stayed for one night. Good location.  This hotel is 10 minutes walk to the train station which is a plus to me. Shops and a few restaurants are nearby.  The rooms are small but clean. I just find the modular bathroom uncomfortable as I have to careful on the first step inside as it is not even with the main flooring of the room.  They gave us complimentary onsen and bath oils which I appreciate. Otherwise, our stay was fine.

Good location with small room

Very nice and clean hotel.  My room have space bigger than usual of hotel in Japan fit for two adults and one kid with two luggage.  The hotel gave me complimentary onsen, but I didn't have chance to try. They serve us great breakfast. Great
 hotel.

Rainy Oita

In December 2016, I stayed one night at the Hotel Hokke Club with my wife and two children in two separate rooms. 

The lobby and hallways are modern and well maintained. The room was a bit disappointing. It was OK but small. If you are traveling on business and are simply looking for a place to sleep for the night, then this is the place for you 

The bathroom was a plastic and fiber glass modular unit that you need to step up into to enter. It reminded for an airline restroom. Nothing fancy, but good enough. 

The Hotel Hokke Club is does not serve a free breakfast, but there is a 7-11 only a block away where you can buy whatever you need to eat or drink. 

The Hotel Hokke Club is next to a street with many late night ramen and izakaya restaurants. Even though I was on the 9th floor, I was woken up in the middle of the night by the noise of drunk people laughing and shouting from the street below. 

Finding a place to park was difficult.

Attractive lobby and hallways. Rooms small and noisy. OK hotel if you want only a place to sleep.

I don't usually look forward to staying at business hotels in Japan... but I do when it comes to Oita!

This hotel was renovated sometime in 2007 or 2008 so everything is new and pristine. The room amenities are those that you would expect to find at a higher class hotel: thick comforter, flat screen TV, dark wood furnishings... which all makes you forget about the smaller sized rooms and low ceilings. The shower is AMAZING, as the high pressure almost makes you feel guilty for wasting so much water :)

Breakfast buffet has a nice variety of food, in fact food in Kyushu in general is cheap, plentiful, and good! There's also an onsen style bath on the top floor, great after a long day or night of drinking.

The hotel is advertised as "eki-mae" meaning the Oita Station's surroundings, but it's actually a good 7-10 minute walk from it. The area around the hotel is fairly lively, semi-red district, so lots of typical Japanese bars.

If you drive, the hotel has its own parking carousel that tends to fill up quickly. Moreover, if you plan on leaving the hotel between 8am and 9am, be advised that it'll take a good 15-20 mins to retrieve your car due to the rush of businessmen doing the same, so plan accordingly.

While the ANA hotel down the street may be bigger and has more brand recognition, it is about double the price and a little farther off from the station. The Washington Hotel next door is usually considered an alternative to this hotel, but it is much older and not as enjoyable.
