What can I say. It’s like living in a Japanese beach house. Totally awesome. The staff is now considered friends. And the residents are great group of people. I was looking for a place to slow down and save some money for my travels and this is the place stayed 3 months and had beach days every day. Beds are tatami so yes hard but my back never felt better. A/C was frosty being able to cook meals a plus and learned some new recipes from staff guests residents. Got totally bombed on awamori ( demon king) the name says it all lol thank you K .. yaz yah my boy. Definitely a bunch of jokers had some great laughs and felt at home hope to see you all again thank you

Very close to the beach, 24hrs open supermarket, bus stop. Only 1 stop from the airport by bus.Staff are super helpful and friendly, very laid-back atmosphere.

I liked a lot! The location was good. The host was very nice. Like a japanese home. Everything went fine. I can absolutely recommend.

Pretty good value, comfortable beds. Staff very friendly. 2 minutes walk to local beach, and under 15 min walk to heart of Naha.Unfortunately, no lift.. But staff offered to (actually insisted) to help move my bags to the room... Love the staff.Budget travellers, definitely yes....Pretty much most important question... Would I stay again.... Answer is definitely yes!

I was staying here for 5 days and it was really good. First let me say it is not a hotel, it is a hostel, with dorms and shared bathrooms, shared common spaces and kitchen. As such you have to expect hostel standards. As my friend and I expected hostel standards we were pleasantly surprised by how nice the place was. It had a tropical island feel to it and the dorm had shelving for storing our bags and other things. We had a bathroom/shower-room in our dorm which was nice, it was clean, but you are expected to keep it clean and not be a messy guest. So if you have dorm-mates that are filthy then expect your bathroom to be less than desirable. Luckily we were not in this situation and our fellow travellers were just as clean as us. The owner Shu-chan was really helpful when we asked about parking, beaches, bars, restaurants etc. Pointing us in the direction of the places we asked about. The dorm room was clean and had A/C, there was a public PC you could use and a Tv to watch anytime you liked. It is really near the beach (like a 1 minute walk) and a supermarket. The only complaint I had and it's a small one, is that it is quite a bit away from the train station and the main restaurant and bar street. Give or take 15 minutes at a good pace, this was fine for me as I don't mind the walk but others may find it difficult or inconvenient.

I liked it here, the staff are friendly and pleasant, the kitchen is very good with all sorts of utensils for ease of use. There is a large Aeon supermarket 100 metres away so you can make anything you fancy. The four bed room i stayed in was basic but there was a privacy curtain and the bathroom had a decent shower. Everything was clean. There's a roof area to catch the sun and just chill. Maybe it needs some new chairs and sun beds though??? You are very close to the beach here but granted that it has to be one of the worst beaches in the world...some unpleasant person decided to build a flyover about thirty metres off the shore, so al you can see in front of you are cars whizzing by...I digress, clearly nothing to do with the hostel which gets my vote and thanks for a great stay.  One negative though, the smoking room is pretty horrible and smoke tends to permeate through the building.  Especially as this is near the eating area - it's a bad thing...

Cosy Tropical feel.

Nice stay, very relaxed!

It can be a bit hard to find cheap places to stay in Naha. But this place is a good choice if you're fine with a basic accommodation.
The Guest House Base is close to a beach including a nice small shrine that is towering on a rock above the beach.
To get there from the airport you can just use the Monorail to Kencho-mae station and walk for about ten minutes.
Theres plenty of restaurants and a big Max Valu supermarket close.

Our room (one bunkbed and a foldable matress) was a bit old and worn out, however we had our own bathroom which was convenient.
The staff's all friendly and can give you good tips on what to do or where to go.

good for budget travellers

We stayed here for 1 week and enjoyed our experience. Here are some things you should know to help you decide whether this hostel is the right choice for you:
- The best possible location. Right beside a supermarket and just as close to the beach. A short walk (maybe 20min) to the International Street. 
- A safe building and decent rooms. You walk into the wet room where you leave your shoes. Inside, there is a kitchen, smoking room, common room, washroom and shower. Above, there are two floors of bedrooms. And on cooler days, it would be nice to hangout on the rooftop patio. Our room was a 4 person girls' room. It had a fairly big washroom with a shower (lots of hot water), toilet, sink, mirror and fan. Each bed had it's own reading light and curtain. Heads up: The air conditioning can only be turned on between 8PM-8AM. On a hot week like we had, the room felt like a sauna at any other time. You can hangout downstairs when the air conditioning will be turned on.
- Good vibe. Because of the cheap price, many people staying here are young travellers. That being said, be prepared to clean up after yourself. Our room wasn't cleaned once besides our own efforts! 

Guesthouse BASE Okinawa

A very dark, dingy and smelly place. Needs a proper deep clean.

There's hot water which is always welcome but that's all I can think of that's a plus for this place. Oh, actually, there is a washing machine for you to use at an additional cost. There is also a dryer, again at an additional cost but you can just leave your items on the clothesline to dry when the weather is good.
