I stayed at Takanosgo first time with my family.
The room was very clean and pretty big. I really liked a private Onsen in the room.
We had a Japanese Kaiseki for dinner, and it was delicious.

Staffs are very friendly, so I am satisfied. We will come back for sure.
Highly recommended.

A perfect hideaway! A room with very nice private onsen. Dinner and breakfast both are delicious!! Staff can speak some English and the service is great. The hotel is at Aso base and a bit hard to find.

We stayed at 四の庄.  It was a beautiful semi-modern / traditional room with a tall beam structure ceiling above the tatami mat area.  
The private onsen in our room was really nice..  It was big enough to comfortably fit 2- 3 adults. 
Very delicious dinner & breakfast..  We especially loved the farm fresh veggies that they served.
We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay there.  
Two thumbs up!

Great rooms and private onsen

Wonderful 

We arrived the hotel at 6:45pm after terrible traffic from Kumamoto. Already exhaused and tired. 
Never expected the staff informed us dinner will be serve at 7pm while the restaurant will only closed at 8:30pm.(Never being informed time for dinner when making reservation)
The room is spacious though.
We have been to Japan for over 30 times and never have come across such POOR service.
We sat down for dinner and the sashimi dishes are already there and it certainly looks it has been placed there for quite some time.
The staff served the dinner in speedy time without any explanation of the dishes. They just place the dishes down the table which is very impolite in Japanese culture. We thought we were eating in a hawer store other than a relatively high class restaurant. 
We felt that we were being pushed to eat as fast as possible so as not to delay there closing time.
Totally not enjoy the meal under such TERRIBLE service or no service at all.
The rice served was COLD, without any pickles which is weird. 
TOTALLY DISAPPPOINTED and RUINING our trip!!!
Never back again or recommend to others.
