First time in a ryokan!
Very nice and friendly host, could drop our luggage in the morning and the luggage was in our room when we cam back from sightseeing.
Location excellent, near all major sights.
Our room for the three of as was a little small but okay
Very clean!!

Perfect stay in Hiroshima

We stayed here a while ago so things may have changed by now.
We stayed here during our around the world trip. It was in February so it was very cold, and the room took a very long time to get warm as it was not prepared before our arrival and was very cold. But the blankets were really thick and heavy thankfully and with the heater running on high we got warm. 
Check in and out was easy, we just greeted the owner (or I think they are owners) and didn't have to do much more. The room was really big (perhaps that's why it took a long time to get warm too) but this was our second ryokan we were staying in and we loved the experience. 
Bathroom is shared, and there is a kettle and some teas and stuff in the hallway to use too.

Very nice room and good location

If you know what you are buying, this place is okay. It's clean, quaint, the people running it are nice. 
It's a bed. 
Well, a futon on a tatami mat to be accurate. We had the two-person room, which is 4 and a half tatami, upstairs. Just enough space to lay two futons. Nice clean shared toilet in the hall, nice clean shared bathroom downstairs. The place smells nice, like wood and tatami. Central location pretty much under where the bomb dropped (we found this out after the museum visit). 
Small, clean, value for money. Interesting. I repeat, small. As long as you know this, it's great. 

Small, tidy, nice 

Chizuru Ryokan is good for what it is - a fairly basic ryokan centrally located right around the corner from the Peace Park and shopping/restaurants on Hon-dori. The owners were very nice and gracious, accepting our luggage far before check-in time and waking up early to make sure we caught our taxi at 5:30am. The ryokan itself is a bit basic (one bath area, upstairs where the rooms are there is a large sink/trough, a urinal, and a toilet), but very clean and the futon mattresses were extremely comfortable, with buckwheat pillows. There is a refrigerator and a hot water dispenser on the first floor. Certainly way more than adequate for a brief stay in Hiroshima, and more character than a standard hotel.

Centrally located, basic ryokan

This B&B Ryokan has a very good location and the price is really fair. Do however be aware that the facilities are pretty basic; you get one room (tatami) with mattresses for relevant number of guests. Bathroom is in the common areas and shared with other guests. Same with toilet. Also, be aware the rooms are not well sound-isolated (you can hear everything through the walls and doors). If you just need a place to stay for the night, it is recommendable.
