La Dimora di Sara - Provenza

We began our three-week road trip through northern and central Italy and Switzerland with a two-day stay at the peaceful and comfortable Dimora di Sara. And we couldn’t have hoped for a more delightful beginning! In retrospect, we found this to be one of our favorite accommodations of the entire trip. La Dimora has all the ingredients to ensure a pleasant stay: great location within walking distance to Turin’s main attractions; spacious and well-designed and appointed spaces in a stately palazzo (the renovation is clearly the work of a sensitive architect); and very warm and gracious hosts (good restaurant recommendations - Don’t miss the nearby and atmospheric Imbarco del Re pleasantly situated along the River Po). We stayed in the Appartamento Mediterraneo, which was delightfully cool and very relaxing. The apartment is equipped with air-conditioning but we barely needed it. The bathroom is wonderful. Access to the family’s terrasse was another plus. As other guests have indicated, a truly family atmosphere reigns at la Dimora, yet the appartment is completely independent, so those seeking privacy will be satisfied. Street parking can be difficult but there is an underground parking lot two short blocks away. A suggestion for light sleepers: bring ear plugs. During our stay, the garbage collectors with their noisy trucks came early in the morning, but this is the case of many places throughout Italy, so you learn to deal with it. We enthusiastically recommend La Dimora di Sara. All B&Bs should be so perfect !
