Fedora

I went to the Fedora with friends on a cycling trip. It was fantastic. The hotel is well run by a friendly family, who went out of their way to look after us. The rooms were simple, but immaculately clean and very comfortable. We were on full board so had three meals a day. The buffet-served food was varied, nutritious and just the kind of thing hungry cyclists needed - but don’t worry, if you weren’t a cyclist you would still love the food! The domestic, dining room and bar staff were delightfully friendly and helpful. If we handed in our cycling kit in the afternoon after a ride, it was return clean and dry the next morning to my room; I got all my kit back perfectly (including socks :-)) every time. How so much laundry can be done so efficiently is a mystery to me, but I was very grateful for it. Bikes are kept in a garage/workshop in the basement; track pumps and an airline are available. Some tools may be available. Water and a banana are provided for each rider, each day. Whilst riders can go out by themselves, three guided rides, for different abilities, are planned every day and posted in the bar the previous evening. The countryside is wonderful to cycle through. The guides are experienced, friendly, know the countryside and set a good pace for the group. They also know the best places for coffee stops. Many thanks to Antonello who guided our rides (and did the fastest inner tube changes I have every seen, on my two punctures).
