No mistakes here: this was the gem of our trip. The house is a splendid ancient villa surrounded by acres of garden and olive trees. The room are outstanding (just like you see in the above pictures) and everything (furniture, decor and toiletries) is well cared. From bed blankets to towels. Very good breakfast served into an outstanding ambiance. The friendly owners will make you feel right at home. We will surely return. The place is slightly off the center so getting there by car is advisable. Parking is available too!

The gem of our trip

This is the worst hostel in Europe... 
Can you imagine paying for €117 a night and you get nothing? Here you can experience it. The house is over 200 year old (with moldy smell , no lift (carry your luggage upstairs by yourself pls), no aircon, no proper lighting. The bed is small (a double not a queen size) and mattress makes loud noise as you sleep on. All furniture inside look like they are forth or fifth handed ones - old and shaky.
There’s no drinking water or mugs provided in the room, and of course, no kettle. If in the midnight you would like some water or a cup of tea? No way! 
Btw, the host is a peasant and she says you want water you can drink tap water... 
There’s no shampoo or shower gel in the toilet. There’s a soap smaller than a butter cube there, for two people - for sure that’s enough for something. 
There’s nothing else in the room... no service either. The host doesn’t tell you a thing except for charging you. If you wanna tell the hosts you are not happy, they smile to you and say you can go ahead and complain. That’s all.
A big lesson is learnt.

Worst hostel ever

Lovely mansion outside Pietrasanta - with well-kept garden. Breakfast outdoors. Nice and quiet and peaceful. Hosts are very friendly. Only 2.5 km to center of Pietrasanta. Nice large rooms. Modern bathrooms.

Splendido!

For the who dislike cookie cutter hotels this is perfect. It is charming and you feel totally at home. The couple that run it are lovely welcoming people. We had to change our reservation for family reasons and Francesca was so helpful. Breakfast in the garden was lovely and there is a next door restaurant which is definitely worth a visit. The rooms are comfortable and individually charming.

Delightful, quiet and charming idyll

Escape the heat from the beach to this fantastic old house! With a beautiful restaurant at first floor, one of our best meals in Pietrasanta.
The host, a family, meet u with a smile, but has a bit to go on the breakfast.
But we loved it!

Beautiful garden & rooms

We only stayed here a day and a night but would gladly have stayed longer. It is in the hills above Pietrasanta but only about a 10 minute drive, very quiet and peaceful away from the town and the coast below and possibly a little cooler. The house is a lovely old farmhouse with a garden. The owners were very friendly and Signora speaks some English. With the teenage children there as well, there is very much a feeling of coming into their home. We enjoyed a good breakfast in the garden.

The former wine cellar (or cantina) down below is now a very good restaurant, "La Locanda di Bruno" which I think is under separate management. It seems to be fairly popular so it is probably worth booking in advance, as we did, both because it saves having to get back into your car again, and more important, the food is very delicious.

The only minor adverse comment I would make is that we were there in a particularly hot July. Although our bedroom was very spacious and the bed comfortable, it faced south and was very warm to start off with. There is a fan but because we tend to be used to an air conditioner, it took some time to cool off. However I do not wish to end on a complaining note as we greatly enjoyed our stay there in this welcoming home.
