101 reviewsWe recently spent a fortnight at the Villa Mare Taormina. The family who run it are most helpful, full of local knowledge and good-humoured. We did not hesitate to ask them for information and we never felt that we were a nuisance. The studio flat had everything that we needed for a comfortable stay, including good wifi in the flat and by the pool, a washing machine and an efficient hob and oven. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony as well as by the pool, the latter being a great asset. There is also a rooftop sun deck. The villa is conveniently positioned, only a few minutes from the beach and a wide range of shops and eating places. There is a sizeable supermarket within a mile and smaller ones near or on the promenade. There is also a corner shop near the villa. We hired a car, but we used the local buses to reach the next town, Taormina, and found these to be on time and the fares reasonably priced. There is a motorway nearby which enabled us easiy to access places farther away such as Syracuse and Agrigento. All in all we found this to be a most reasonably priced, relaxing hotel in which to stay.
