Palazzo Maria

It seems most of the better hotels in Cefalu are located for beach access, this is a fantastic option to stay right in the Duomo square with wonderful views of the piazza. Friendly and accommodating staff who speak excellent English. We parked at Dafne and they supplied a discount coupon after we asked for it. A 10-15 minute walk to the apartment from there. We had "Ruggero" a 3 room apartment, beautiful high ceilings, nicely decorated and furnished, with balconies overlooking the piazza. Beds comfortable (large double in separate room, double sofa bed, and single folding bed). Wifi excellent. Kitchen was well-supplied, excellent Lavazza coffee maker. Bathroom was clean, with the usual small shower. For our family of four, they had graciously set up a folding single bed for us, at our request. The beach and grocery stores are maybe 5-10 min walk. We were kindly allowed to leave our luggage while we did more sightseeing the next morning. Only negative about the room, the balcony doors are not sound insulated at all, luckily the noise died down around midnight. The rooftop terrace had nice views but was too hot to spend more than a few minutes on a very hot day (no shade). The door to the terrace could be marked with a small sign. We would gladly return.
