570 reviewsThis was our 3rd week-long family vacation to Alte Muehle, and we can't wait to do it again next year! The food alone is the best we've experienced anywhere, and is the highlight of the trip every time! Beatrice and Sepp are the most gracious and accommodating hosts, and the staff is impeccable. The surrounding area is a winter wonderland with world class and budget-friendly downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, Christmas Markets, shopping, snowshoeing, ice skating, castle tours, frozen waterfall hikes, etc. We loved the daily routine of a world-class breakfast, hitting the slopes for a few hours, enjoying Alte Muehle's pool/spa, followed by a world-class dinner every night. The cozy fireplace and bar in the lobby are a great place to hang out with friends before dinner. Beatrice and Sepp know how to throw a phenomenal New Year's Eve Celebration! Every year there is a different theme...this year's theme was Great Gatsby...we greatly enjoyed dressing up in 1920's gear and celebrating the New Year with the Hotel Staff and Guests. The fireworks are a fun way to ring in the New Year.
