My wife and I loved our stay at The Old Pier Guesthouse. We were the only folks in the inn for the night but Jacquie was sure we didn’t miss out on any of the effort that would’ve been made had it been full. The fireplace was warming the breakfast room and the food was plentiful. We enjoyed chatting with her and appreciated how welcome she made us feel. The view out of our room was spectacular!

Spectacular views and great place to stay!

What a lovely place and Jackie the owner was such a lovely host she was very helpful with everything,the views from our room was unbelievable and her breakfast was unreal and again nothing was to much for her and the room was spotless and so cosy I great place to stay and most importantly for us it is dog friendly thanks Jackie for a lovely stay  Stephanie,Robert and sandy !! 

Amazing place 

One of the best B&B in West Kerry . . . host Jackie always had time for a chat and friendly advice on the area . . . the breakfast was superb and without doubt the best we had on the trip . . . overall a lovely family who can’t do enough for their guests . . . and Jackie thanks for the fairy cakes and chocolate biscuits on our return from JPs.

Warm, friendly, brilliant

Jackie was so welcoming and really understanding of my elderly dogs needs! She was warm,friendly and extremely helpful! The room was clean and super cosy, the views were fantastic and breakfast was delicious! Dingle a short drive away, would highly recommend!

Amazing host and beautiful view

Awesome view of the peninsula! The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent- a traditional Irish breakfast! This was a cozy bed and breakfast and we couldn’t have asked for a better place!

Awesome view

Wow, what a place. Friendly atmosphere, amazing view overlooking the three sisters and a lovely breakfast. I highly recommend the scrambled egg with smoked salmon. An extra plus, we could bring our dog. We stayed two nights just to explore the Dingle peninsula. We’ll be back. 

Fantastic place with an amazing view

Room #5 has a breathtaking view of the ocean. What a great place to unwind and enjoy the Ring of Dingle. Short drives to local craftsmen and Connor Pass. Everything was modern, clean and a terrific Irish breakfast!

Room #5

In late October, I returned to the Old Pier for my annual visit to the Dingle Peninsular - I've been doing this for quite a few years.  In my initial visits to the area, I stayed in upmarket B&Bs in Dingle town with a view of the sea but Wild Atlantic Way it was not.  Then I discovered the Old Pier which is only a 15 minute drive from Dingle on the R549 signposted "Brandon Creek" (well worth a visit).  The Old Pier is  in a magnificent cliff top setting.  From the front rooms you have an amazing view of the real wild Atlantic (not the placid sheltered sea you have when staying in Dingle town). And even the rear rooms give you a view of dramatic Mount Brandon.  To your left from the front there's the impressive triple mountains "The Three Sisters" and just across the road from the hotel there's the hidden Dooneen Harbour and stone pier which although no longer actively used is what you would expect to see in this part of the world. Hollywood knows a special location when it needs one and it's only about five miles south on the Slea Head road from the hotel that "The Last Jedi" in the Star Wars series had some scenes shot at Ceann Sibéal in 2016.  
When staying at the Old Pier you will not be paying the excessive prices demanded in Dingle town but you will have a very comfortable stay.  The bedrooms are a good size and well furnished, the en suite bathroom with walk in shower is spotlessly clean.  The towels are pristine white and are changed every day.  But the real joy for me is the generous breakfast which caters for all tastes and sets you up for the day.  The hosts, Paid and Jacquie, will make you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble for them. I'm looking forward to next year's visit already! Give Dingle town a miss and discover what awaits you in terms of the real Wild Atlantic Way just a few miles away.

Dingle alternative

Situated in the stunning, scenic Dingle coutryside, with a beautiful view of a nearby beach, we had an excellent stay in this bed and breakfast. Our room was decent-sized, with a very comfy bed, and well-equipped ensuite. We visited at the end of September, towards the end of the season, and we were notified in advance that there would be no evening meal - but our breakfast was delicious.
All this at a great price - definitely the best value of the five places we stayed in Dingle this holiday.
We will be back!

Booked the Old Pier Guesthouse. Paíd asked what time we were checking in at. I told him I’d let him know soon as we hit the road but probably around 7. Text him to say we got delayed with work and kids and it would be 8.30. He asked could we ring when we got to Dingle as it’s 10 mins away to make sure there was somebody there to book us in. We got caught in traffic plus there was an accident so arrived in Dingle at 9. Rang him and the way he spoke to me was unfathomable. He was unbelievably rude and said he wasn’t going to be waiting around and there wouldn’t be anyone there until 9.30 and that’s our problem etc etc. Needless to say we didn’t stay there, as there was no way I wanted to face him after that. I got quite upset. So, if you’re looking for somewhere friendly there are several other B&B’s around the area who are just lovely. Friendly, welcoming and so helpful. This guy just made our trip we’d been looking forward to stressful as I got the “dont you dare be late” vibe from him throughout the day and felt under pressure to get there ASAP. No other B&B does that... shocking to say the least!!
