Galang Kangin Bungalows

This is a small guest house directly at the beach. They have about 5 rooms downstairs overlooking the beach and 3 rooms upstairs. We got an upstair room which I actually loved. More privacy and perfect view to the sea without seeing the beach itself which is full of fishing boats. Also you can nicely see the sunrise from here! The beach is with black pebbles and you need slippers to walk on it. But is a long beach, you can walk quite some distance. However, we came here for the snorkeling. It was truly amazing! The guest house is in a small bay (Jemeluk bay) which is full of corals and fish (especially on the left and right side, with a small gap in the middle of the bay). If you walk about 800 m to the left (towards Amed) there is another good snorkeling spot. You could also hire boat trips to places further away for snorkeling. But in the 3 days we were there we constantly saw new fish and corals so we had no desire at all to go. Amed is still a small village, no large hotels, one main road along the beach with restaurants and guest houses. Nothing like Kuta! Just what we wanted. But better hurry to go there. Every morning we saw them catching the coral fish. Seems to be stupid as this is what tourists are coming here for. But it is happening. Our room was very large (meant for families) with comfortable beds, couch, couch table, bedside table, small desk, safe, kettle, AC and WiFi. No TV. The bathroom was large. On our balcony there were two couches and two chairs and also a rack to dry the wet clothes. Breakfast is served in the small restaurant – there is a menu to choose from. There is a grocery store across the road (a little bit to the right) where we bought a big 25 litre drinking water bottle (which can be returned). If you walk about 800 along the beach to the left you can see the sunset over Gunung Agung (volcano) which is beautiful. We had the most relaxing holiday!
