Far from crowded Mall road but not too far, just 10 mins walk from Mall road. Absolute quite place in lap of nature. Great view of Mt. Kanchenjunga from each & every rooms. Friendly hotel staff, Room service is ok type, Food is taste & good. More over you can avail 24*7 water supply which is miracle in Darjeeling.

Great view with quite place

Room.. the 1st room we were given was not a good one.
There was no intercom in the room.
The bathroom fixtures were ill fitted.
The tap of the basin was continuously leaking water. The geyser was not working properly.
The view was still superb.
We requested the reception executives to take care of the problem and were assured that by nwxt morning it would be solved.
Next morning, there was no hot water at all.
Water was not flowing out from the geyser. We were getting late for our sitescenes.
I went down multiple times to the reception,  they finally took the pipe of the geyser off and that was it. No improvement. 
I had to call the person in charge of the hotel.
Then things changed.
We were immediately shifted to room 305.
This room too had an awesome virw.
Impeccable bathroom fixtures.
A working intercom
Ample storage space.
Ample space near the head end of the bed, for keeping a whole lot of things.

Food....it was below average.
The breakfast was complimentary but not buffet spread.
They would prepare a particular dish at breakfast and would not prepare anything else, even on request as it would be a set breakfast dish.
However, one could order something else by paying a price.
Even then, the food was just below average when we were there.
There was excess use of chat masala in each and every dish.
The one item we liked there is the tawa roti

The approach road....
It is about 230 metres from the jalapahar road walking down on a narrow road inbetween houses till the gate of the hotel.
Its 160 metres from the gate downhill to ajc bose road right in front of hotel summit hermon.
This stretch of 160 metres is really bad and has practically no or minimal light at night. Its not possible to navigate without a light source at some places.
190 mtrs from hotel summit to gandhi road.
880 mtrs along gandhi road till kevs.
This distance along gandhi road and ajc bose road is walkalble.
They have a pickup and drop service, once daily to the mall or dhr station. However,  since they use 1 sumo, most of the times it takes a long waiting time to avail the service. 
Still, one should stay for at least 1 day, since the view on a clear day is just awesome. It ls even comparable somewhat to the view from sandakphu.
There is 24 hrs running water in good flow.
If the geyser works, then it works perfectly.

Why one should stay at this hotel. Why one should avoid this hotel.

Stay was not very impressive as location was congested, didn't felt safe and reception was congested. Even the restaurant was not inviting. The only thing kept up going was friendly staff already to support and helping manager who assisted in planning our trip. 

Darjeeling on route

This hotel is a about a 15 minutes walk from the Clubstand and almost 20 minutes or more from the Mall. As far as the location is concerned, I did not find it very convenient, especially if you are planning to stay out a little late in the evening. The climb to the hotel is a steep one (including a flight of stairs) and in it's not really a well lit path. Anyone who has a knee/breathing problem, will find it difficult to climb up. 

The service is however good. so is the view from the room. But beware of the loadshedding. The best part about this Darjeeling hotel is that it has running hot water 24X7. The rooms are clean and good. Also while you are checking out, take a thorough look at the bill. They have a strange way of including service tax.

Good view but inconvenient location

This hotel is 15 mins away from the Mall road. 

We are dissapointed with the room service during our 3 night stay in the hotel.
There is no one to attend at the reception at times! 

Room service is not prompt and we had to keep reminding them to pull up the generators when the lights were gone. Also there were no phones to call up the reception! Highly dissapointed there.

Food is not bad. 

Car does not stop exactly at the gate of the hotel. It leaves downstairs and later there is a 3 min hilly walk which needs to be covered, which is tiresome!
The view from the hotel however, is really breathtaking!

Good rooms, however room service needs to be improved!

Dissapointing room service

Horrible experience....staff behaviour is worst.Even food quality is bad.Worst food we have ever have.Damp rooms ...No hot water in the washroom...No facilities ...the staff used bad languages with our ladies that's why we left the hotel the next day.

Most worst experience

Everyone will read carefully. We had a total of 60 people in this hotel from June 10th to June 11th. The management and staff of this hotel can't imagine such bad behavior. The rooms of this hotel are very good but the quality and quantity of food is so bad that it is unimaginable. very bad test of food. And the staff of this hotel is extremely unprofessional. Disturbing guests a lot. The owner of this hotel cannot be any big businessman.MDof the Hotel is very bad minded. Who fusses over the little things of the guest.

Worst experiece ever . Please dont go . The manager (owner ) is the rudest , abusive person have ever met or seen . Pls dont wste your hard earned money to tolerate the person's anger and ill-behaviour and abusive words .

Worst experience ever had

Please "DO NOT" visit this hotel. We had the worst experience in our entire travel life.
The rooms lacked basic cleanliness. We had a 2-day stay and the bathroom wasn't cleaned before our arrival. Even a mug of water was clogging the drain because of the hair from previous guests. One could puke at the look of it. On our request to the staff to get it cleaned, they did not arrive even after we waited for 3 long hours and then later on blamed on us for not staying. And the next day, when requested again, they refused to clean as we were checking out the same day.
The chapatis were not even edible. The tables and basin in the dining area hasn't been cleaned for ages.
The gallery lacks proper ventilation and smelled of alcohol and smoking the entire time of our stay.
The location again is so bad that you can't walk to mall road. They offered a ride back to the hotel but made us wait for an hour in the rain.
On the last day at the time of our checkout, the staff was extremely rude and the owner instructed his staff to not take our luggage to the cab despite knowing that the path is so bad. I had my elderly parents and a small child with us.
The owner mocked us that our single review will not make any difference. Our goal is not that the hotel does not have any guests at all but to save atleast any guests from these cheaters.
If you have no issues with the cleanliness and service then you may try this hotel for your stay.

It is not true that the hotel is located in front of Mall Road. Darjeeling Mall is far from this hotel. You have to know Trekking to climb the Hotel from road. Very much risky to Heart patient and Arthritis patients.
