2 reviewsThis was our first time getting ayurvedic treatment. Because it is off-season in Varkala, many places were closed. Ayur Clinic was open and the one someone recommended, so it is where we went. The last week of May it was VERY easy to get an appointment, since there are not many tourists in town. Treatment was nice. It was different than any massage we have ever had - it is extreeeemely oily, but feels good. Men have male therapists, women have women. Prices are very reasonable. Surprised not to get served water afterwards - maybe that is a Western tradition? They did give us a plate of fresh mango, which was very nice. Therapists did not speak English, so little communication during the 1.5 hour treatment. No bathroom facility, so go before you get there. We did not stay on site, we were at another resort. We just went for treatment one time. They do not accept credit cards. I recommend trying it out. It is certainly something different! :)
