The Alpine Pelling

We stayed four nights.  This is an understated hotel with a surprisingly great view of Darjeeling from the room / balcony and also of Kanchenjungga - we weren't expecting that.  (We were on the top floor, There are even cheaper rooms that probably don't have a direct view).  We were looking for a budget hotel with hot water and attached bath.  This provided it, clean, secure, it's not flash - dated, but honest.  Friendly, unassuming and helpful front desk manager and staff.

Value budget hotel - hot water and nice views

This hotel is too bad. Looking like hut. The room is very dirty. Very backward hotel.bathroom looking very dirty not having english bathroom and room service is very bad . television looking like box.

1) A Entire Day we spent without electricity which result to no water 

2) No running hot water

3) Room service is pathetic. I cannot blame the boy who was working in the room service department because he is working n room service + helping in kitchen and also serving food along with other kitchen staff. As a result he cannot do all things at same time

4) Entrance of the hotel is too dirty. 

5) Most Important it is far from Mall. You will be out of breath while coming from Mall. No cars come to the hotel because it is a one way road. You have to travel the entire road from chowmatha to the hotel along by yourself.

6) The representative of the hotel (he told us he is the partner of the hotel)who booked the room for us from Kolkata didn't inform them we will be going. 

Only good thing is if the sky remain clear you can view the mountains clearly from the room. Rest is worst than a holidayhome

Worst Hotel I stayed in my lIfe

(1)	No running water in the taps
(2)	No room service
(3)	No daily cleaning of the rooms and Toilets 
(4)	No cartoons in most of the room 
(5)	No proper ventilation in the room - suffocating
(6)	No intercom 
(7)	No TV in most of the rooms
(8)	Very difficult to reach)

Simply Avoid

1.Only one good thing is : Nice view from only top floor rooms. Best room is 406 ( top floor)
2. Way to hotel is really very very steep. not recommended for old people or people having   
     problems with walking
3. Mall road is 10 - 15 minutes walk.
4. Hotel Service is BAD. 
5. No intercom facility. Bells are there in rooms, have to ring the bell to call someone from   
    downstairs, one he comes have to ask for ur need. again he will go down and fetch the 
    requirement
6. Washrooms are smelly, minimum ventilation. washroom of room no.404 is unusable. Only 
    406's washroom is ventilated.
7. Room service does not change bed sheets, towel until asked for.
8. Food inside hotel have not tried so can't say. Although tea tastes very good.
9. Geyser available only 2 hours in the morning. rest of the day cold water or else have to try 
     luck if you can convince service boys to switch the geyser.
10. Even if you stay in that hotel, buy mineral water bottles for drinking water, as the normal 
      water they provide is from open bucket filled from direct water supply.
11.Overall average hotel. Costs Rs. 850 (inclusive of tax) for double bed rooms at top floor 
    during October 1st week 2012
