I have recently been to the hotel with family and colleagues. It is an amazing experience. This is my second stay in the hotel. I have stayed there last year as well. Amazing view rooms. Lovely food. Extremely courteous staffs. Not to miss the amazing Cafe House Darjeeling which is at the same premises. The Cafe House Darjeeling is  a must visit place if you are in Darjeeling. Also the location is so good that one doesn't need to climb too much uphill to reach the Mall. The Mall is just 7 to 8 mins walk.
A special mention about the interesting cafe walls. It has the cartoon representation of films shot in Darjeeling and famous characters. See how many you can identify.

The Retreat was an amazing experience. Food, service, cleanliness, behaviour of staff, attitude of staff in Cafe ,all were excellent. Arijit Chatterjee runs the show to the best of his ability. See you soon "The Retreat"❤️

Experience par excellence

It was an amazing experience to stay in The Retreat Darjeeling. The quality hospitality is worth remembering. The view of Kanchanjanga from the hotel is unparallel. The food, the presentation of food, the overall courtesy of the staff members deserve mention. Coffee house is a must visit place in Darjeeling. Rooms are very comfortable with all needful amenities. Location wise ,The Retreat Darjeeling gets an advantage over others. But most importantly is the cooperation and friendly gesture of The Executive Officer  Mr Arijit. The way everything is handled by him and the way he takes care of the guests is praiseworthy. To summarise, our stay in The Retreat Darjeeling from 8th  to 10th March 2023 is a memorable experience.

Fascinating view of Kanchanjanga.

We visited Darjeeling so many times as others but this 2023 March,we stayed this property and we were enjoyed a lot.nearer to Mall road,little bit lonely place also.all the staff specially hotel manager mr.chatterjee very helpful person

Nice locations and excellent staff

One of the best place to stay in Darjeeling. Staff was good and brilliant, the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. the foods were also quite delicious and hygienic.i definitely recommend to stay here...

Queen of Hill (Darjeeling)

The Retreat is situated at the end of the Darjeeling Mall road, near the Raj Bhavan. In fact it is only 2 to 3 mins walking distance on a plain land ( without any steep slopes) from the point where the car will drop you. Hence it is ideal for senior citizens or persons with walking disabilities.

The hotel is a small boutique hotel with just 12 to 13 rooms spread across 3 categories - Deluxe, Royal Deluxe and Royal Executive. While all rooms offer a clear view of Mt. Kanchenjungha, the 2 Royal Exec rooms ( 301 and 302 ) offer an unique view of the sunrise as well as Mt. Kanchenjungha, which is something that is extremely rare to find amongst hotels in Darjeeling. However please be advised that these rooms do not come cheap at all. Please note that the Royal Exec rooms are NOT sold via the travel portals and one needs to approach the hotel and make a direct booking for these rooms.

The staff is polite and helpful but the manager could have been a tad more helpful at times. The hotel food was tasty and sufficient. The rooms came with complimentary breakfast, which was not a buffet, due to very low occupancy in early Nov'22. However the service was a tad slow.

Nice Boutique Hotel

The Best sunrise view along with the Majestic Kanchunjungha view hotel in Darjeeling city (since it's just below the Observation View Point).  Most of the Kanchunjungha view hotels don’t have clear sunrise view. This hotel's Executive Category Room view is simply more enjoyable than Tiger Hill, since U can have all the enjoyments of Tiger Hill just by sitting in the Executive Room's Balcony. Cost is a bit high. But service & other issues are simply the best. 

Better view than Tiger Hill (both Sunrise & Kunchunjungha view). Executive category room is highly preferable.

Location of The Retreat is great & Kanchanjungha view even from the bed is excellent!All the staffs serve with smiling face and are very cooperative! Manager Mr Arijit Chatterje is very very helpful and is very cordial! Food served is tasty! The Roof top Cap has excellent ambience with Kanchanjungha view

My experience @ The Retreat, Darjeeling 

I stayed in the hotel for 5 days along with my family from 2nd October to 7th October,2022.We stayed in the executive room which was worthy and awesome.The condition of the room was excellent.Mt.Kanchenjunga and the full range was very clearly seen from the attached balcony as well as from the room.Food quality was extremely perfect as well as tasty.The staffs were also good and helpful.Lastly I mention that the manager,Mr.Arijit Chatterjee,was a very kind person.He also helped us in our tour planning.

Spending Puja holidays in a luxurious boutique resort

The location of the property is very convenient. We stayed in Room no 302. The view from the room and balcony was simply outstanding. While the property isn't very large , it is cosy and comfortable. The recently added Cafe House on the terrace is an added attraction for the view it offers and the food. The manager and staff members were very warm and extended excellent service. In particular, Mr. Arijit Chatterjee took very good care.
