This place was great. It was down a bit of a smelly alleyway but it was a safe area and this is india after all. The rooms were clean enough, our sheets had a small burn mark and the staff offered to change them but as they were actually clean otherwise we declined. Walking distance to the taj south and east gates lots of rickshaw drivers around and the bazaar street is nice to wander around on foot.

This hostel is located right next to the lonely planet famed Saniya Palace Hotel, with identical amenities, the same view of the Taj Mahal, but HALF the price. It goes to show how hotels raise the price when listed in the backpacker bible.

Price aside, 'Mr Bond' the owner is a gem, extremely funny, and up with all the information you could need to enjoy your time in Agra!

Great value

Extremely friendly...

we enjoyed our stay at this guest house. After checking out of a conning lying guesthouse around the corner called Hotel Shanti Lodge, where nothing worked and was filthy, Taj Guest house was a relief. Ok, was down a stinky ally way. But a guy there done nothing but clean all the time we were there. They were polite and constantly fixing things (a rarity in India). Maybe a new manager!!. The room was small, but clean bed, clean cold shower. Very basic, but what do you expect for 350 rupees. Did not try to sell us trip or tours. We felt comfortable here. A roof top balcony to see Taj Mahal from. Careful of the monkeys though. Would definitely stay again.

Always cleaning!!!

The owner started so friendly, he invites people for a drink and then he offers oil massage and going into the room invading personal privacy. He plays the game of being friendly to take sexual advantage of you. He traps you till until he finds a way to touch you by offering his massage. A pervert to the highest level. Shockingly he also ask too much personal questions. .. So Disgusting!!!Definitely don't stay there. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Stay away of Taj Guest house in Agra

The owner is a pervert! Stay away!!

Staying at this guest house was a mistake. This place was far away from clean they do not respect your privacy to the point that the owner was asking really personal questions. And the price does not match the poor services offered (like a very filthy toilet)
