Matalbatz Hotel

I recently stayed at Hotel Matal Batz in Coban and had a fantastic experience. The rooms and bathrooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. They have free parking inside the hotel, which was a big plus for us. It's very centrally located, just a couple of blocks from Coban's central park, making it easy to explore the city on foot. One of the highlights of our stay was the breakfast, which was included in the room rate and was absolutely fantastic. There were several options to choose from, but I opted for the hearty and delicious Guatemalan breakfast featuring huevos rancheros, plantains, fresh cheese, black beans, fresh fruit and warm tortillas. My son went for the pancakes, which were also really good. The hotel also has a really nice common area, ideal for relaxing or playing board games. They have a nice selection of games to choose from, which was a nice touch. The staff was friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. This hotel really offers great value; it's an affordable option for anyone staying in Coban, and I would highly recommend it. My dad, my son, and I stayed here for a night as our first stop on our way to the Candelaria Caves and Semuc Champey, and it was the perfect choice for our needs.
