Whilst we had an okay time in the basic and very small room we are so disappointed with the way in which we were treated by the manager Elisabeth.

There was a power cut in the region, and although the village had power, Palataki did not. This meant that there was no power and crucially no water - we could not even flush the toilets. The power went off at about 4pm. We went to the village for dinner (which had power), and found that Palataki was still in darkness when we returned in the evening. Our only source of light was our mobile phone.

The next morning we were still without power. Elizabeth could not tell us when the power would be restored, and there was no guarantee that it would be back on that day even. Without water to wash, flush toilets, for drinks etc and no ability to charge our phones, Elizabeth was in agreement that it was best for us to move hotel for our last night. She suggested the Phaerae Hotel in Kalamata (which was excellent), on the basis that we would be refunded for the cost of this.

Since then I have heard nothing from Elizabeth. I have emailed several times, as has the operator who made the booking . She has not has the courtesy to respond to any messages.

I am so disappointed in the dishonesty of the Palataki Hotel in particular with Elizabeth who made false promises.

Dishonest hotelier

the good things: the view! the space of the 2 bedrooms studio was ok! the coffee maker, the kitchen's facilities, the veranda and the protection from the mosquitos with special tissue in the windows.
the bad things: the bed!! the matress was like a stone! the bathroom had the minimum light you can imagine and the mirror was like broken everywhere!

3 nights stay

Small basic room with not much space to move around, with a kitchenette and an equally small bathroom. Everything clean and tidy. Balcony of the upper floor was spacious and one could enjoy an amazing sunset over the sea from there. 
There is a swimming pool with sunbeds right in front of the hotel and there is a parking space at the back.
The village is 10 minutes on foot down the main road, the beaches of Kalamitsi, Ritsa etc a few minutes away by car.
All in all acceptable (even a bargain considering the prices for accommodation in Mani) but for the noise of the main road passing in front of the building and the poorly soundproofed walls, so if you decide to stay, choose a room at either end of the top floor, in order at least to have one neighbour.

Acceptable

Stopped here on a wonderful cycling tour, organised by grcycling.com. The room was quite basic, but clean. The bed was a bit firm for my old bones, but all of this was more than made up by its fantastic location

Basic, but clean

We loved this place. The room was spotless with a nice large balcony with a stunning sea view. There is attention paid to detail and the staff and owner are very friendly. It is a short 5 minute walk into town where there are many bars and restaurants. I will definitely go back.

Beautiful

For the price of this property I think it would be hard to fault. 
The room was clean and spacious although our bathroom was a little tired. The Aircon smelt a bit damp but worked. 
The pool was clean and had a great view and there were plenty of sunbeds.
The lady who checked us in was friendly, polite and helpful. The gentleman who I presume is the owner was a little short in his communication and I would not customer service was his strong point.... At times he did smile though. Great location to enjoy the old harbour. 

Clean, fairly priced, odd owner.

Me and my family have been here before(maybe around 5 years)and since we loved it so much and we also were excited about how clean the villa was,we would every year to come back but the villa that we wanted wasn't available.This year, we gave it another shot and booked the villa we wanted.Since the pandemic, we were scared to book a hotel that maybe wasn't that clean and we could remember that this one had an excellent stuff that cleaned our apartment every day!When we arrived everything was clean,but the following days our villa was never cleaned (neither we had new towels)and we asked the stuff about it.They said "they forgot to tell us about the new rules" that basically if we want  the service to clean our villa we have to ask specifically about it..so after the third day they "cleaned"(the floor wasn't clean at all, basically the changed our bed-sheets and mopped and we cleaned the pool again by ourselves).It's such a pity,that a nice hotel with a very nice view and accommodations doesn't follow the cleaning rules, especially in a period of a global pandemic.

Not that clean

We stayed at “Palataki” for a ten-day period in late July and we feel really satisfied with our accommodation there. The studio itself is as spacious as you would need for a holiday stay; it even has a kitchenette with the necessary kitchen utensils if you feel like cooking while being there (actually, I never felt like so as there were so many tempting restaurants nearby and appetizing dishes I wanted to try!) It is quite clean for a holiday room and towels are relentlessly changed by the very gentle cleaning lady. The pool is great for an afternoon swim; sometimes we even had it for ourselves, but, in all cases, it never got too crowded. Actually our room must have been one of the best as it overlooked the pool and main road (see photo); if you are more of a peace-and-quiet person, better ask for a room at the back where it is much quieter. The owner and his parents (it’s a family-run business) are welcoming and attentive. We really enjoyed some discussion time with them. As for the distance, it’s a bit farther from the centre of Kardamyli, but for us who had a car and we had decided to tour around it was never a problem. Plus, it had a spacious parking lot so nothing to worry about. Overall, I’d say that it’s value for money accommodation and its pricing is fair for what is offered. For all these reasons, I would definitely recommend it! 

Palataki indeed!

What a great and amazing place to be!! The gardens and the pool is beautiful and clean. Nice apartment with beautiful view and a lot of amenities. The owner and the staff are very helpful and sweet. A great thank you to Alex for a fantastic stay!! We will definetely come back!! 

Great Place!

Great villas in the hill over Kardamili. 15 minutts walk from centrum with supermarkeds and shops. Nice seaview and olivetrees all around. Good cleaning.Have also nice studios with saeveiw. Very safe and quiet.
