I have just returned with my family after staying at the Alexandros for a week. Word of warning it caters only for Germans'!!!
The hotel itself is no where near a 4 star, more like 2 star. Our room had stale smell coming from the bathroom which we could not get rid off. The décor is from the 1980s' and the hotel was completely soulless. The air conditioning in the lobby and bar areas was switched off making it unbearable so you did not see any guests. The food was over priced. The staff made no effort to help and did not give good advice. We started visiting the hotel next door, the Oasis, just to getaway from the hotel.
The town of Perama is ghost town with shops closed down.

Poor value and catering only for Germans'!!

We stayed at the hotel for one week.
The hotel is well situtated, very close to some small super markets and the bus stop leading both to Corfu Town and the Southern part of the island..
The staff was extremely helpful and friendly.
When arriving at 21:30 the first day, they reopened the restaurant for us and prepared us some food. In addition, we were given a room with beautiful sea view without extra charge.
The hotel was very clean and quiet - the rooms were cleaned every day, even on Sundays.
The food was fine :breakfast buffet in the morning, changing menu in the evening.
Air condition included in the price.

This hotel in Perama, Corfu, The Alexandros, had no menu when we first dined there. The menu was printed on a board every morning, we were told. If we wished we could suggest a change to the main course. We tried this and nothing changed. Dinner was 3 courses, one of them invariably a plain Greek salad of tomato, sliced cabbage and with one olive if you were lucky! The sweet was a single round of ice cream usually. The main course always a small lump of meat: the best was steak pie and a few chips without the pie. We never saw a fish in the 14 days we spent there, though many were being caught at sea. The staff knew that we were being ripped off. They knew that any 4 star hotel would offer a huge choice and that the food would be delicious. Not one meal we had in 14 days was anything like as good as we are accustomed to back home. When you go to a 4 star hotel you expect to get better food than you are used to. What was provided here was a rip off from start to finish. 
We had been promised air con. They charged us £77 for 2 weeks air con on top of the hotel price. We were not told this in advance of arriving or we would not have gone there.
Perama is a ghost town where most tavernas and shops have closed, some ruinous. No wonder! Now wonder there is a financial crisis in Greece. It is corrupt to the core. Even the bus drivers make money overcharging for tickets. It is a pathetic tourist industry. Steer clear of it.
