The rooms were small but good and clean. The caretaker was very helpful and guided us to the hotel from the beach close by as it was difficult to get route direction on Google Maps. The house has only one split Air Conditioner covering two rooms, the living room and the other spaces. The TV never worked ( we did not try to watch much TV though ) and the Wi-Fi was only good when we were at the patio. The patio has the view of the wonderful beach and the restaurants close by offer good sea foods. We will go back there if those issues are fixed.

Sifnos - beautiful island

Noisy (closed restaurant on beach) organising parties late each evening ... difficult to sleep with closed Windows because of missing air conditionning in parent room (until 34°) ... so you have to choice between noise or heat... personnaly I dont recommend this place with high local prices rent. Sorry for my english such I didn't sleep well during 1 week. Nice seaviews and household appliances ok.

Nice island spot but ...

Do not recommend. The landlord, Yiannis, lives above you, and is very noisy early morning. He would ring our door bell before 8am and after 9pm when we had specifically asked him not to as, we had sleeping children. The bed was broken in the one of the rooms, and the shower drainage system meant it smelt. The outdoor cushions are covered in cat hair - not ideal if you are allergic to cats! The worst bit though was the payment system. We paid half 4 months in advance  through a bank transfer to secure the property. And then towards the end of our stay I messaged the agency to ask how they would like us to pay the rest of the bill. Bear in mind the landlord lives above and could have asked for the sum at any point during our stay. They didn't get back to us until 8pm the night before we were leaving saying we needed to pay in cash. But there is no cash machine in Faro! And our children had gone to bed as we had a very early start to leave the island - they then wanted us to go to their hotel and pay by card but by this point it was late at night and we needed to get to sleep. So we said that we would arrange another bank transfer as this seemed the most sensible option. The landlord came round raging - waking everyone up - shouting and threatening to call the police. He even called the car hire place to try to get them to stop us leaving the island the next morning!! It was the most unpleasant holiday experience ever. I would avoid this place like the plague. When we originally booked there were very few reviews, and mainly bad ones and that really should have flagged it for us. So we're trying to avoid the same happening to another family with young kids who just want to enjoy a good holiday.

Landlord rage!! The most unpleasant holiday experience ever.

We booked a top floor studio and paid a deposit to secure the booking. After chasing staff for confirmation, they told us that a "travel agent" had made an error re a large wedding party booking and that there was no longer space at the hotel. This was after we paid a deposit and cancelled our other hotel. When they offered us maisonsalaplage down the road, we accepted as accommodation in Sifnos at this stage was hard to come by. Maisonsalaplage was a private apartment, but unfortunately it didn't come with what we were hoping for in the hotel: breakfast, daily cleaning, access to the pool, and someone on sight to help organise taxis etc. In addition to that, the lounge area downstairs was made up of two tiny beds (we were only 2 people and there were beds made for 6!) so we had no sofas or seating areas in the lounge rendering it useless. Further, when the manager mentioned the local cats, we got to know all too well within 30 seconds of opening the terrace door when one hopped in our room and sprayed our bed. Perhaps the worst of this all was no apology and a whole host of emails that went unanswered when asking about breakfast, taxi numbers etc. That was, of course, until the day of checkout when the balance was due when the manager was incredibly punctual in telling us how much we owed and when we could pay it. Once we went to do so, we had to look through their records to show where our deposit had come through because they couldn't find it. All in all, a nightmare of an experience. Maisonsalaplage is a fine apartment (made good because of it's terrace view) but not what we asked for, rude staff, and terrible communication / organisation.
