352 reviewsWas my stay perfect? Not quite. The hot tub on my balcony never really warmed up and the shower was a bit cold. However, that is where the negatives stop. I cannot give Maria’s Place anything less than 5* , becuase Anna, the host, is the most friendly, charming and helpful lady. Every morning at breakfast I watched her greet guests with an enthusiastic “good morning!” as if we were staying in her own home. The breakfast selection was a generous continental selection. Some of the pastries were very good. The view from all corners of the hotel is outstanding. You could easily spend a day lounging around the pool given it’s phenomenal sea views, but I didn’t have time to sunbathe as I was out and about exploring the island. My room had everything I needed, and the view from the balcony was fantastic. Maria’s Place is around a 20 minute walk from the centre of Oia, but I would dare anyone to complain about the walk given the stunning caldera and sea views throughout. There is also a supermarket at the end of the road leading to the hotel (5 minute walk) which is open until 11pm. A genuinely lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings.
