Venus

Now first you have to remember, that this is Greece - you only get luxury and the feel of modern day in big resorts. Hotels in small villages are cute and a bit out-dated, but that what get’s me in the Greek-mode! We switched to Venus after being very disappointed with Lambros. We were heartily welcomed eventhough we arrived late in the evening and without a reservation. The price was reasonable and we felt right at home from the very beginning. Don’t be fooled by the location - Venus is right outside the Kokkari village center and only a few minutes walk to the stores and restaurants - as good location as any and a very calm area. The hotel is rather big for a small town hotel and has the largest pool in the area. The breakfast area is lovely and breakfast has all you need - not a huge variety, but a good buffet to start your day. The rooms are roomy and with nice balconies. Most importantly, the room was tidy and lovely, felt like home. We had a view to the mountains. The little bar serves your drink needs for the pool-time and you can also play pool (billiard) at the hotel. Should we ever return to Samos, there’s absolutely no reason why we wouldn’t return to Venus!
