What a lovely hotel with high quality services, great ambience and breakfast. Great value for money.the pool is wonderful and the beach just great!all personel made our stay one to remember,shall return for sure!

Lovely place!

We stayed there for 12 days in July, the place is absolutely perfect for families. It is located in a very quiet are with some cafes and a grocery store nearby.
The flats are very comfortable, clean and literally a few steps from the pool and the sandy beach.
Here I spent a wonderful time. We will surely come back.

Perfect place for a family holiday. Absolutely lovely!!!

Everything you need for a traditional Greek holiday is here. Well maintained apartments with a friendly beach bar,a pool and a fantastic beachside location. The sand is golden and the sea was a pleasure to swim in
Stayed here at the beginning of september and found this absolutely perfect beachfront location couldn't fault the place. Vassilis and his family were lovely has the best time with a great bunch of people there..will definitely go back

Very nice beach apartments!!!!

The The apartment is great located, it is near to the best beach around, we were happy that we chose AlkionisBeach Apartments. It is runned by a lovely family, who are very helpful and kind. Very clean and well equipped. We spent a great time here and it is definitely recommended..

Family beach apartment!!!

Reasonably priced, friendly staff. The apartment was huge but only €54. The hotel is located right on the  beach with a really nice private sandy beach

Wonderful holidays

A lovely , small, friendly hotel.  Its really relaxed here with no one up at the crack of dawn to put their towels on a sunbed . Andreas is really helpful,  you can even WhatsApp him if hes not in. The only thing you need to be away of is there is no beach there anymore.  You can get into the sea via some steps but there is no beach to sit on . It has changed dramatically from last year . There is a beach about 5/10 min walk so it did not hamper our stay . 

Lovely but no beach now

My boyfriend and I stayed here and had the best time! The apartment had everything we needed and a lovely terrace looking out to sea, at night you could hear the waves which was heaven to fall asleep to. The pool was perfect with comfy sun loungers and just metres from a mostly sandy beach, we had some lovely drinks and snacks looking out to sea from the tables outside and they prepare a huge, tasty breakfast at a small extra price which I recommend. There's a wonderful Greek Taverna just next door, highly recommend it, cheap too! Shops and a bus stop near by to get to Rethymno, and last but not least the host Andreas was so accomodating and friendly and even gave us some lifts to a few places of interest such as the monastery, probably the best host we've had, we will definitely be going back, we're not in to big, built up places with loud entertainment so this was spot on, also make sure you visit the Cretan evening at the restaurant in the hills, Andreas booked it for us and it was amazing! Traditional Cretan dancing and everyone gets involved, love Crete and we can't wait to stay at Alkionis hotel again!

Idyllic location

Our studio apartment was large, clean, and had a comfortable bed and small, but enjoyable patio.The apartment was surprising quiet largely because of excellent windows. The views from the property are all that anyone could hope for. And, though we were a couple, it seemed an excellent vacation spot for families with children, 

Negatives: small bathroom with a tiny shower and there were no comfortable chairs in the apartment. The lighting in the apartment is interesting but not very helpful. These negatives might not matter to some people.

Mixed Feelings--depends on what's important to you

Very kind hosts with good attitude to the guests. Appartments has all, that they need to. As a diver and spearfisher It is one of the best places, because your family can enjoy clean sandy beach and you can go deeper and dive over the rocks a beat east. And all of that right infron of the hotel. 
Location is perfect: 
- if you travel by Bus, there is a stop of a Bus to irakleo 60meters from the hotel, also you can take your bus to rethymnon here (20 mins to the center) 
- if you trevel by car, you are in the center of crete, head from the Hotel whenever you like. Also, when you trevel west you skip Rethymnon traffic Jams using autoban.

Good location, kind Hosts, very close to the see.

First of all we have to say big thank you to Andreas and his family for a great care. Specialy to his mother who was bringing us every morning fresh home made very tasty breakfast directly to our apartment. That was great for us, because our daughter was not able to wake-up early :-)
Room was very comfortable, big enough, clean, beds good too. Very nice view from our apartment (room 17) and I think it was the best located room, because there was a shadow on the terase all day long so we could sit  in there any time during the day and enjoy the view. And the stairs to the beach were just in front of us.
I apreciate the showers at the stairs to the beach and the pool was fine too, specialy for the children and for the days when there were extra big waves in the sea.
It is also nice to have a service of drinks (fresh juices, frapé..) and small snacks (toasts, omelets..) and enjoy the seaview on the beach terase or in the room. I was little bit disapointed with the taste of milkshakes as they are made of ice-cream. I would recommend to use fresh fruit and milk as other thinks are home made ;-)
Beach is very small but you can have it for your self, it is like a private beach and you can borrow an umbrella and sun beds (for a fee). It is a sandy beach with a zone of pebbles on the entrance to the sea.
If you have small children you will apreciate that there are two restaurants with children playground, one at the left, one at the right, just next to the hotel few steps by the beach. On the left, there is Thalassi restaurant with a big playground, my 3 years old daughter loved it there. On the right, there is a great Taverna 11 with few swings and fresh home made food. But food in both reastaurants is great and for a reasonable price. Also the accomodation has a small playground. Now days without a shadow, but as I was told from the owners, they are still working on some improvements and they are thinking about it how to make it better and put there some shadow.
You can find 3 minutes from the apartments also a supermarket and bakery. In the bakery we liked the ice-cream :-) And almost in front of the apartments there is a bus stop to Rhetymno. Bus goes there every 30 minutes (each full and half hour).

Great family hotel at the beach. Great location with beautiful surroundings perfect for children too.
