Stayed here for 11 days sept 20.
Great base to explore island, big clean pool and right on beach.
All staff were great especially guys at bar, been to zante many times before always stayed in kalamaki but will hope to return here next year.

We came back from vacation with a family of four.  The hotel met all our expectations and even more.  Its wonderful location right on the beach and a wonderful bay made it pure relaxation.  In addition, the hotel staff and chefs bent over backwards to make guests feel great.

Wow how lucky were were to find this gem amid all the Covid restrictions. We had 2 holidays cancelled and was determined to get away, in all honesty i am glad the first 2 were cancelled otherwise we would never have discovered Alykanas Beach Grand Hotel.  The location is fantastic and we were able to hop from the pool to the sea and back again.  I have always been more of a pool person but the beach and water here turned me, snorkeling everyday and even spotted a turtle. The studios are basic but more that adequate, we were a family of 3 (adults as daughter is 16) and had no problem with the space. very clean and tidy and all the outside areas being constantly maintained. The staff here are lovely, nothing is too much trouble and so friendly.  We ate at the hotel a couple of times as they had a daily all inclusive option, the food can not be faulted - everything we had we enjoyed, cant complain about the cocktails either ;-)   We went with friends and we all had such a wonderful time we have booked to go back next year, wish it was next week !  I would highly recommend Alykanas Beach

The hotel is fine. The rooms are basic but large enough and spotless, the cleaners do an excellent job. The reception staff are very pleasant. The location is perfect for beach and also so close to Alykanas and Alykes town centres. Some of the previous complaints are a bit harsh. All in all a good hotel.
Now that Thomas Cook has gone and Tui taken over I hope it does not change too much only for the better.

Stayed here for a fortnight in mid September. This hotel is in the perfect location. Right on the beach in the centre  of the bay. Quiet but a very short walk from the Alykanas village shops and restaurants. 
To the right along the beach you can walk to the small harbour where there are lovely restaurants overlooking the crystal clear water. To the left you can take a short stroll along the river to Alykes, another beachside resort, slightly more upmarket than Alykanas.
The Alykanas Beach Hotel has apartments ranged around a garden courtyard with a snack and bar area facing the large pool. The apartments are very clean and simple, basic but adequate. Lovely staff, good pool  plenty of shady seating and sun loungers.
A quad bike is an ideal way to explore the island. Very hilly inland but worth the effort to find quiet rocky inlets and swim in the turquoise sea. Particularly beautiful is Porto Limnionas.
Local buses run to Zante town and beyond to  the sandy beaches beyond. Highly recommend St Nicholas beach in the far south with its little white chapel and rustic restaurants. Very quiet and scenic.
To the north Agios Nikolaos is a pretty harbour near the lighthouse, windmill and Blue Caves.

I stayed at this hotel with my girlfriend from the 6th sep to the 17th. When we checked in we were told they had an all inclusive option priced at €30 each per night. This would have meant it would have cost us €660 for our stay and we decided we'd rather spend that money in the local restuarants, and we're so glad we did. This isn't because the food was poor (we actually didn't see any of the food so can't comment on it) but because the restuarants in Alykanas and Alykes are so good. We were given room 318 which was on the ground floor, just behind the bar area to the right, our balcony overlooked the grass area and if you looked to the right you could see the sea, which was an added bonus. As said in many reviews the rooms are very basic, but they are clean and we didn't have any major issues with the room. If I was being picky I guess I could say the beds are a bit hard and the bathrooms get a bit wet when having a shower as the shower isn't totally enclosed so water gets on floor. The towels some days were ok but sometimes were replaced with very old worn out ones. The pool area is nicely kept, although sometimes on the grassy area there was litter sitting there for days, not a lot but it was something I noticed. The pool wasn't too cold especially after the sun had been on it for a few hours. Sometimes you'd get a small queue at the pool bar and once my girlfriend got into an argument with the barman because people were pushing in and when she said to the barman "Where's the queue" he replied "the queue is anywhere" but to be honest I always found him ok, I actually felt sorry for him when she told me she moaned at him ha ha. A bottle of Mythos/Fix/Aplha is €3 and a Coke/Sprite was €2 so the prices are very fair considering you're sitting next to the beach. When we first got to the hotel the mix of people was probably around 50/50 British and Russian, as the holiday went on it was more Russian, simply because of Zante being on the quarantine list by the UK government, as the Brits were going home they wasn't being replaced. Everyone around the pool seemed friendly enough and the atmosphere was pleasant, with music playing from the pool bar, there was a lot of Frank Sinatra and Abba type music. The location of the hotel is its main selling point, smack bang on the beach you couldn't get closer to the sea if you tried, from the pool to the sea in literally seconds. Turning right onto the beach and walking for about 8 mins takes you to the harbour where you can arrange boat trips etc. Although the hotel is classed as being in Alykanas, you can be in Alykes in about 10 mins maybe less, it really is smack bang in the middle of the two resorts. The two resorts combined gives you almost limitless options of bars and restaurants. Places we ate and would recommend are Fidelios in Alykes, Dennis diner in Alykes, The Mill bar in Alykanas, Woodhouse in Alykanas, Bekeris family grill in Alykanas and Vrasaki in Alykanas, also Rua mat in Alykanas is a great spot for lunch. I also had Mousakka in Neirada down by the harbour in Alykanas and it was lovely. We simply didn't have a bad meal all, even the Chinese we had in Taj mahal on the main Alykanas road was good, a Chinese run by Greeks so was sceptical but we very much enjoyed it. Just outside the front entrance to the hotel there are two bars, one called Dilemma bar and one called Bonkers. I used to pop in Bonkers every afternoon and it was always pleasant spending an hour in there, the people who run it are nice people, a bottle of beer with a frozen glass will only cost you €2.50. Back to the hotel.... Would I stay there again? Possibly, as I say the main selling point is the location but everything else although clean, does need updating. The exterior of the building is looking tired and we did see loads of other places locally that we would like to stay in, I think in Greece I'd like to stay somewhere smaller where you get to know the other guests better, that's a bit harder to do in a bigger place like Alykanas beach hotel. It's not a massive hotel but is one of the biggest in that area. As a first time visitor to Alykanas and Alykes I was very happy with the way our holiday turned out. It's a lovely chilled out place to holiday with great bars and restaurants and everyone's so friendly. I wouldn't hesitate to return to the area, whether it will be to the Alykanas beach hotel or somewhere a bit smaller I'm not too sure

My wife and me spent one week in this hotel and been very satisfied. Hotel close to the sandy beach with clear water, clean rooms and good service made our vacation unforgetabble.  COVID situation has changed a little bit the food service, but personell was really helpfull and tried to satisfy every customer..

Absolutely recommend this hotel and apartments. Great location and right on the beach. Nice pool area and lots of sun loungers.

I have just returned from a recent family holiday staying here at Alykanas Beach Apart-hotel. This hotel is in the perfect location, right on the beach front with plenty of restaurants and shops close by. Also for anyone that struggles with walking the location is very flat which makes it easy for walking. If you are not bothered about going out of the hotel while sun-bathing the pool bar is great for either breakfast, dinner and tea or even beer o'clock! The rooms themselves could do with updating a little, but other than that they were very clean! We were here when Thomas Cook collapsed but the staff (including the Thomas Cook reps) were always there to make sure we were still enjoying the holiday. What made the stay a little better was the hotels dog Dave!! He's a sweetie, and loves a fuss, sunbathing around the pool/ beach and staying out till late around Alykanas partying! I would highly recommend it here, and I hope this gets taken over for the next season!
