This was our first visit to Makis Studios and we absolutely loved it. The location is perfect, 10 mins walk or so to the main strip and beach but still secluded and quiet enough to feel completely at peace. Effie and Rita are a dynamic duo, always wanted to help with a smile on their faces. The apartments are cleaned daily and presented impeccably. No matter what time you get to the pool, there are always free beds and it is kept beautifully clean. I absolutely recommend this place 

Fantastic apartments in gorgeous Skala in the perfect location.

The hosts are amazing and very friendly, but. The but is the studios are extremely basic and the bathroom could certainly do with a refurb. They are also very dark and dingy with dark wood furniture, however, immaculate and cleaned every day.  The pool is lovely with a lovely pool bar. The best bit about the studios are the location 5 mins walk into a busy and bustling centre. Plus there’s lots of stairs to get your cases down and if you have mobility issues it’s a no no.

Was expecting better studios

We've just returned from the Makis Studios and are already looking to book next year. Effie and her mam Rita are amazing, so friendly and helpful. The studios are lovely and cleaned daily. The pool area is brilliant and no early morning rush to get a sunbed. A 2min stroll and you're in the centre of Skala. Would 100% recommend.

Amazing place

Another wonderful holiday at these lovely studios the welcome from Rita and Effie is so lovely, nothing is to much trouble, the rooms are clean and comfortable and fabulous pool area with plenty of sunbeds. Near to the Main Street but far enough not to be bothered by noise can’t wait to come back next year

Great apartments great hosts

Stayed for 5 nights with my sister. Lovely welcome off the coach from Effi. Herself and her mum are super friendly and always happy to help. The apartments are very clean and adequate. Relaxing pool area, plenty of beds, ice cold drinks and lovely breakfasts and dinners. The apartments are perfectly located…..a few minutes walk to the restaurants and bars, and 5-10 minutes to the beach. My first time in Kefalonia and couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay. Typically Greek which I like. Thank you Makis x

Superb stay

The hosts are so friendly and helpful.
The room was clean and tidy, we knew after previous reviews there was a charge for the air conditioning wish was a bit steep but we felt we needed it.
The bar was great with drinks reasonably priced, we didn't eat there but other guests did.
It is a fantastic location for the town with an easy walk compared with other hotels.
I would thoroughly recommend and we loved Kefalonia and will come back

Great location and fantastic hosts

I came back from these apartments 2 weeks ago, and am missing it already. I picked these apartments from a shortlist of about 9, and really feel I made the right choice. I arrived in the middle of the night, very tired after a long, quite stressful journey, and I was offered a bottle of water, which I gratefully accepted.

The standard of accommodation was basic, but clean, and had everything I needed. The only problem was that I woke up during the night and saw flashing, and thought maybe it was a smoke alarm, but realised it was the light bulb in the ceiling light.

I immediately reported this problem as I suffer from migraines, and it was rectified straight away. I cannot express my gratitude to the staff enough for this, as usually when I report something, it takes 2-3 days to rectify the problem.

I had a fantastic week, and did a lot of swimming in the pool, which was just down the steps from my apartment, number 2, which had a large terrace in the front, where I was often greeted by the local cats, some of whom became very friendly when I was sitting outside in the early evening.

The place is clean, staff friendly, and just a couple of minutes walk from the main street in Skala, and 10 minutes or so to the beach. In the opposite direction, you go up the road into deep countryside.

I am looking forward to returning there very soon!

Friendly place with lots of lovely cats!

Just returned home after a fantastic 7 night stay here this is a lovely small family run place and suited me perfectly as a solo traveller and these are the kind of places I look for when booking.
The other guests there were very friendly and would always have a conversation with you which was very nice being on my own I met some lovely people there.
Effie who runs the place works really hard day and  night and will always chat to you no matter how busy she is a really friendly girl and her knowledge of skala and kefalonia is amazing.
The rooms are cleaned daily and towels and sheets are changed regularly and the bar and pool area are spotless.
Would I stay here again absolutely 100% I'm already thinking of returning next year.


Fantastic week at this little gem

These studios are very close to the centre of loads of restaurants and not far from the beach. They are cleaned everyday and they serve breakfast and snacks from 8am-8pm. The owners are lovely and very helpful. The swimming pool is not heated but kept very clean and for every 2 sunbeds , there is an umbrella and table

I would stay again in a heartbeat

Fantastic stay at the Makis studios 24th August for 2 weeks. Staff are very welcoming and friendly, our room was spotlessly clean and cleaned every day and regular bed linen and towels changed. the only draw back is the size of the bathroom but hey you don't spend all your time in their, the apparments are very peaceful and the pool and bar area are spotlessly clean plenty of sunbeds for all as per usual people put their towels on the sunbeds and disappear for the day then return around 4pm for a swim.
excellent location and will definitely return I highly recommend this hotel
