Only 20 minutes from the airport but the planes do not disturb the peace around the pool.

Hotel is tired but staff are generally lovely. Reception and bar especially. Restaurant staff are a real mix with one lady never smiling all week and obviously not enjoying her job. Never caught her name as name badges seem optional. All restaurant staff are very quick and efficient, though. Tip.... Buy your wine as a full bottle and simply ask them to keep it for you for the next night. The prices are very good with an OK local white only €14.50 and a decent red €16.00

Room is large but disappointing..... Safe too small to contain tablets and laptops and the key needs carrying around as it is not a keypad. Doors do not have a spy hole which may concern some guests. There are plenty of clothes hangers and wardrobe space but drawers are small. Bathroom poor with very narrow shelf and terrible shower hose going up the wall in the bath. Renovation urgently required with removal of the bath and decent shower instead. Furniture and decor is old but the bed comfortable. Aircon works well which is great as temperature reached 43° ...

Balcony door cannot be opened from outside so if you sit on the balcony it cannot be closed.  There is also no light on the balcony so forget any thoughts of reading with a glass of wine after sunset.

Breakfast ok but nothing remarkable with the cooked section pretty unappetising. The cold section is my thing but is uninspired and never changed. Same small cheese selection, same sliced processed meats, same tinned sliced peaches. However, breakfast does have decent bread loaves to be sliced and a small selection of pastries. Lots of jams, great Greek yoghurt and honey.

The evening selection changes every day and anything meaty in a sauce was pretty good. One evening featured staff carving from a beef joint. I'll try to get a picture of a menu for the buffet.

Still loungers around the pool at 9.45 but all loungers taken.by 10.30 nothing available. Several became available during the afternoons. Whilst the hotel patronisingly claims to police the situation (see replies to review comments " we try to eliminated the unattended towels left to reserve the sun beds, by discreetly monitoring every morning" ,) they do not and many beds stay empty with a towel on them for hours.

No English entertainment channels on TV. 4 English language news channels but no BBC world.

 Also patronising, and only done so that hotels can tick the environment box, is the message about towels. No matter where you hide your towels (rather than dropping them in the bath to be changed), housekeeping will seek them out and change them.. even taking them off the balcony dryer by undoing your own pegs! 

Tip for swimming in the sea.... It got choppy every day after about 4pm if the wind gets up. For the first 5 days of our week it was quite an adventure trying to swim! It is beautiful and calm in the morning. So you can join in the morning rush for loungers ( towels and equipment on loungers by 8.30 and then go for breakfast) then a swim in the sea via the concrete ramp and back to the lounger to dry off. Or wait for free loungers after 2pm ish and again just walk down the ramp. You can set up camp on the beach but the loungers are a private affair and are all taken by locals by 9am. There is a hotel bar on the beach which we didn't use but it looks like you could occupy their table for a couple of hours.

There is lots of seating in the foyer on comfy sofas and tables. If the table has a drinks menu on it you will be approached by the bar staff who are all lovely. Cocktails are €9.50 or €10 in the bar and €4.50 at the bar just outside slightly up the hill during their happy hours.

A large bottle of water is €2.20 in the hotel or 50c in the supermarket at the top of the hill. The main road is a short uphill walk from the hotel. Bus into Argostoli is  €2 but if you can get another couple to make a party of 4 it is the same via taxi (€8) and lots more convenient as the but service proved unreliable. Coming back to Lassi was spot on from the bus station in Argostoli where you can then catch buses across the island. Be careful if you visit Sammi as the 4.30pm bus back leaves from the ferry port... Not the main street, so that it can catch everyone coming back from Ithika.

I feel that for guests with limited mobility this hotel would be a nightmare. There are no toilets on the ground floor, or the pool area. In the bar and reception area the toilets are one floor down by either stairs or the lift. From the pool it is back into the hotel and down the lift. From the bar it is down stairs or across the lobby and down the lift. Or back to your room. Not well served either- on our last day both urinals were out of use and both towels dispensers empty- I had to sneak into the ladies for hand towels.

Not happy to notice that the fire escape at the end of the corridor was overgrown with ivy.

So a pretty mixed review of this hotel. It is decent value ( we were with Jet2) but I think that the small saving over higher rated hotels was not worth it. 80% of my reviews are 4 or 5 star but I'm afraid that we would not stay here again because the irritating details are too much for me!

Tired hotel saved by the lovely staff

Great food, lovely staff, fab pool, clean rooms, great location. Everything you need for a lovely holiday in Kefalonia. We will be going back.

Great hotel

I almost don't want to tell you how good this place is!  We've just returned from a week break, our first in 20 years without the children. The hotel is fantastically placed - just 20 mins transfer from the airport which is super - and right on the beach. Amazing views from the poolside, and nicely situated just off the main street in Lassi, so easy to get to everything - good supermarkets about 5 minutes walk either way, and a 3 minute walk to the bus stop. 
The hotel itself is great. Staff are polite and calm, from the restaurant team to the housekeeping, to reception. There's a small shop on site, which is useful, and a lift directly down to the beach for anyone who needs access. 
The food is excellent - we went half board, and there were very good options for both breakfast (cooked, Greek, continental, fruit, yoghurt etc), and supper (2 soup options, salads, meat and vegetarian dishes, puddings). In the evening they show you to your table which is a nice touch, and you can put drinks on the room tab (and ask them to put your unfinished wine in the fridge for the next evening!)
The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and we appreciated the rugs by the bed which is something you don't usually get in Greece, but made it nice and cosy!  Air conditioning is included, as are dressing gowns, slippers, and beach towels. 
There's a member of staff by the pool every morning who very courteously removes and folds your towels if you put them down to save beds and then wander off!  Super. The beach bar (run by the hotel) is also fantastic, and the beach is small but sandy - and beds were usually available if you were down by 9am. 
We did two trips with KCG who have an office on the road up from the hotel - very well priced and extremely good. We also took a bus into Argostoli (2 euros), and taxied back (8 euros). 
A really really super trip away.  We loved it!

A wonderful, welcoming hotel for a short break away

We booked this as our first time in Kefalonia…the hotel is close to the beach and we booked a sea view which was lovely …the hotel itself is clean and spacious…our room was basic..beds comfortable, no charges for the safe or air conditioning…Food was hot and tasty but could do with abit more choice..staff where helpful and very polite..they couldn’t  do enough for you …the beaches in Kefalonia are lovely, we spent our time at the beach …we did walk to Argostoli which had some lovely views if you walk along the costal way, and we got to see the turtles, we also did a TUI trip which took the whole day which we did enjoy we visited Lake Melissani, Sami, Friskardo and Assos , Mytros Beach with a meal included at a waterside restaurant…would recommend the guide tells you all of the history of the island .The pool on the hotel not very big and not too many sun beds but we are Beach lovers and spent our time there….i will be visiting Kefalonia again in the near future.

Lovely ..

Came for a weeks holiday with our two teens after their exams. This hotel exceeded expectations! It was clean, the staff were friendly, polite and welcoming. Our rooms were cleaned daily. It was so close to the beach. We only used the pool once - and they had a member of staff monitoring guests putting down towels so this wasn’t an issue. We preferred to spend our time on the beach and it was 8 euros for two loungers and an umbrella. The beach bar was great for drinks and snacks during the day. 
We went to Aqua Marina most days for lunch and this was excellent value with gyros for 5 euros. 
In the evening we went to some fantastic restaurants such as Kefalos (recommend the fish platter for two!), Drossia (kefalonian meat pie was superb), Retseto was also amazing. Our favourite bar was Il Gabbiano - the gin gin mule cocktail is worth a try. 
Walked into Argostoli one morning which took about half an hour or so to catch the turtles and do some shopping. The hotel will organise a taxi from there if you call them and let them know where you are. This is about 8 euros. 
A fantastic holiday and we wouldn’t hesitate to return!

Fantastic holiday

Great hotel and staff lovely to have the beach so close by . the pool was enjoyable nice and clean with plenty of sun loungers..the food was really nice and a great for vegetarians.friendly staff nothing was too much trouble..

Fabulous holiday 

It was our first holiday in Kefalonia and this hotel and we hope to return because we were sad to leave! It was such a comfortable, relaxing and refreshing week. All of the staff were so friendly, welcoming and efficient. The room was well equipped , a decent size , spotlessly clean  with air conditioning and had good storage facilities. The twin beds were comfortable but a tad too firm for my arthritic bones. However after requesting  a mattress topper the receptionist ensured that one was added to my bed almost immediately! 

We enjoyed the food at breakfast and dinner and it was so lovely to sit outside to eat in the mornings The views from the hotel are superb and it’s set in the most stunning position in a sheltered bay with comfortable loungers around the pool and direct access to a lovely little beach. The beach bar and cafe is so convenient for lunch, snacks and drinks. 

Thank you to the management and all of the staff for ensuring that our stay was the best it could be. No wonder there so many guests return.

Unclean room on arrival, it was cleaned after request 

Rooms no sound insulation so can hear literally everything 

Breakfast started well but eggs cold even after explaining twice

Quite dated now and certainly doesn’t feel like a 4 star

Positives are the location to a wonderful beach, beach bar good food, balconies for sea view rooms lovely 

Disappointed 

Returned last Sunday from this wonderful hotel which was our 2nd visit & already planning our return next September.From start to finish was excellent,checked in on arrival by really friendly receptionists to a sea view room on the first floor so no need to use the lifts,we booked half board again as we really enjoyed the food back in June 2019.Same again very good food in the restaurant both breakfast & Evening meal,restaurant very clean & well run by the superb Lambros who I rate as the most friendliest restaurant manager with a smile & a warm welcome for everyone,every morning we had breakfast on the terrace  also kept very clean.Well done to the lovely ladies who kept our room spotlessly clean,thankyou,love the location of this hotel its in the perfect position for the beach with a lift down to the beach for anyone with walking difficulties,a slight hill upto the main road but not a problem for us,bus stop for Argostoli just a couple of minutes walk & bus fare €2 each way or €8 taxi ride & usually several taxis waiting outside hotel,we thoroughly enjoyed our holiday here last week,the staff,the cleanliness in all the public areas,we didn't use the pool or the sunbeds as we spent our spare time on the beach & got 2 sunbeds & umbrella for €7..we can't wait for our next visit to this lovely hotel

Belated return trip

We stayed in the Hotel Mediteranee and the hotel itself was lovely.
Maid service every day with towel change every other day.
Reception staff were very pleasant.
We are not pool people but did notice that guests were putting their towels out early but in the hotels defence if the guest wasn't on the sunbed within a reasonable time, a member of staff moved the towel enabling someone else to have the sunbed.
The food was lovely but unfortunately I have Coeliac Disease and while there was gluten free options, cross contamination was an issue so I did have to stick to foods like salads, cheeses, meats and fruit and jelly and ice cream.
Kefalonia is a beautiful island and we were very fortunate to see turtles playing in Argostoli and one hatch from a nest on the beach and make its way down to the sea. It was an amazing experience.
