That was terribly disappointing. The quality of host was not good. Concerning the members of staff, there is a woman who was not empathic. But the properter and Eric were so available.

Rooms were clean. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Food service was exceptional. Wifi connection was poor. Would stay again.

We arrived Eden lodge on the 28th of December 2017 and checked out on the 2nd of January 2018. The manager of the facility was pleasant. The breakfast was okay and the rooms were cleaned everyday.
The staff were pleasant and always willing to help. Our movement in and out of the hotel was not a problem as the hotel called cabs when needed. 
Meals are delivered to the hotel when you place an order. However, the waiting time for the meal to arrive could take over 20 to 30 minutes.
Mr Brown and his team were great. We had a pleasant stay.

Clean and Decent Accommodation

Stayed at Eden Lodge for a weekend trip to Cape Coast. Eden Lodge is a very simple, clean, and quiet place the stay. If anything, it's the nearby church having hours long musical programs that make this place less quiet. Note: most churches in Ghana will have very loud, hours long musical programs, especially on Sunday.

The staff - Mr. Brown, Mohammed, and a very nice but quiet young woman - are very kind and helpful and willing to give you tips on navigating around town or to Kakum National Park [TIP: taxi drivers who see foreigners WILL try and charge you an insane amount of 150GHc to drive you to and from the park; you are better off taking a crowded but immensely cheaper option in a trotro for 6GHc.] Like everywhere else in Ghana, the staff cares about your safety and genuine enjoyment so they will give you recommendations and advice on how to navigate town. I always recommend living like a local while traveling (especially if you are a foreigner and already seem strange and disconnected) so take their advice on how to catch buses, passenger taxis, or where to walk.

The lodge itself is a bit hard to find off a long-ish dusty road. As long as you are mobile person who doesn't mind the walk, it's not too bad. If you are picking a passenger taxi from town and say you want to alight at the Regional Hospital, they drop you about 1.5km or 1 mile away from the hotel so mentally take note of landmarks

The place seems deserted most of the time although the very few employees are around - they happen to fill nearly every role you can think of so don't be shocked if the front desk guy is also the one sweeping around the compound outside. 

I still had work to do and needed the internet, which can be purchased for 2GHc for 300mb. It was really frustrating to have to keep entering in new codes and buying more mb; the internet is fast but I don't think I would've spent that much on it had I not needed to keep working.

Breakfast was a very simple meal of two slices of bread and egg; in fact most days I just got an egg sandwich. Also choice of Nescafé instant coffee, Lipton tea, or Milo. I'm not a picky eater and as long as I'm fed, I'm fine. Those who have very particular tastes or expect something fancy should adjust your expectations now for most breakfasts in Ghana.

Finally, the garden outside is a very simple but beautiful space that even has some mini-golf holes. I recommended to the manager, Mr. Brown to place some benches or tables around because it's so pleasant. As long as you can tune out the very loud church next door, it really does have an Eden-like feel.

In all, the staff really makes this place great. It's a fairly new hotel that I think can use some improvement here and there ("small small"), maybe brighter walls in the lobby to make it seem less dark and deserted.

Hidden simple but great lodge

was on a business trip in cape coast.  Searched for a place to stay for the night. i came across Eden lodge and i must say that i enjoyed staying there for that night. Not a luxury or fancy a lodge, a small place with about 10 rooms  with a clean washrooms and clean bed sheets. Mr. Brown was very receptive and friendly. Go to Eden lodge when you visit Cape Coast

Cool place to stay in Cape Coast

Came to Eden Lodge with two friends to stay for a weekend. We called ahead to ask if we all could stay in the same room, which was not a problem for a charge of 25 cedis. 

The staff was very nice and helpful. When we asked them to call for a taxi, it only took 10 minutes! 

When we were in Cape Coast though, many taxi drivers didn't know where the lodge was, but with the use of Google Maps it was no problem.

Very nice place with nice staff

This is a tired old bed and breakfast type facility in a declining area of cape coast. Very nice man owns it and the breakfast was surprisingly good but look for other options in this area...
