Gasthof Zum Rathaus

We went up to Oberhausen for a music festival, and chose this hotel on the basis of it being relatively nearby and cheap. I wasn't expecting anything much on that basis, but was very pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel and the very warm, sincere and accommodating service we received. We enjoyed some nice afternoons on the terrace there drinking tea, coffee and beer. It's situated in a very pleasant and quiet side street, very close to the main station, but we should have taken better directions with us because it's closer to the station than it appears on google maps. We didn't eat anything but cake there :) but some of the other people at the festival had and told us the food was really good. The menu included snacks as well as main meals and seemed very reasonably priced. I'd recommend this place to anyone, perfect really - couldn't fault anything.
