Hotel beim Hirschen

We stayed at this hotel for one night whilst travelling back to the uk. We chose this hotel as it was very close to the town of Freiburg (approx 3km). The hotel has secure underground garage parking for those who drive, and also off road parking in front of the hotel. Our room was very comfortable, it was on the end of the building on a corner. This gave us a dual aspect with 2 balconies both accessed via patio doors. One balcony had a table and chairs, the other balcony was very large and was shared with the room next door, this was ok for ourselves as our friends were in this room. When you walk into the room it had an area that contained a sofa bed with a large window and also access to the bathroom and wardrobes. To access the bedroom there was a glass wall and door (that locked). This made the room very spacious. There are no curtains at the windows, only long floor to ceiling nets, but there are roller shutters at all of the windows for night time privacy. The bed was very comfortable with a down pillow and quilt, there are also further blankets and pillows in the wardrobe. Our bathroom was well proportioned with a large bath with hand-shower over. there is a flat screen tv in the room (only english speaking channel is CNN). I was very pleased with the room as it was very light and spacious. There is a bus stop directly opposite the hotel that will take you into Freiburg. There is also a bakery and chemist across the road. There is a good restaurant very close to the hotel (literally around the corner), and also a variety of shops and and Aldi supermarket all within walking distance. I would stay here again if I returned to the area.
