We stayed a week in this lovely B&B a very short drive from the crowds of Prien and within easy driving of many sights in Bavaria and Austria. Choose a balcony room for evening view over the mountains (sometimes with lightning). You are not within practical walking distance of Prien so do need to drive to supper (or bring your own food and drink to the hotel - fridge, plates, glasses and cutlery in room. Exception: There is one nice restaurant a 1.2 km walk away). Superb buffet breakfast. The area offers both active (cycling, walking, water sports) and lazy (boat trip, driving) excursions so great for all ages, weathers and exertion levels. Whatever your preference a day on the Chiemsee is not to be missed - the two main islands are fascinating quirks of history.  Our favourite locations a little farther away were Salzburg and the Konigssee.  And a hidden gem - a rock formation where millstones were made for 300 years starting 1570  (that's my photo contribution ...) 

Very friendly hosts happy to advise on all aspects of local tourism. 
Free wifi, cold drinks machine near hallway (beer ad soft drinks), ..... 

Any areas for improvement ? Sure: reading lights on the balcony would be nice as would down rather than polyester duvets. If you are tall beware the beds are a little short and have wooden footboards (is that a word ?) so stretching your legs is trickier than it need be. 

Covid-19 August 2020: The hotel’s still full, Germans and a few other European nationalities but no Americans or Asians. Face masks throughout and buffet breakfast means you go to the buffet (in your face mask) and ask for what you want: The hotel staff (in face mask and gloves) will put it on your plate. Works well, the hotel staff are a little stressed out but coping pretty well.

Lovely quiet B&B a very short drive from the Chiemsee

We definitely recommend this beautiful hotel near the Chiemsee. The hospitality of the hotel owners is fantastic. It’s so personal that you get the feeling that you’re staying in a small guesthouse.
Breakfast is super good and with the best local ingredients. Excellent clean rooms and if you’re lucky to have a room on the backside of the building you get a stunning view over the beautiful landscape.
This is an excellent location to visit the region of the Chiemsee or to visit Münich (what a nice city!) or Salzburg (what a nice city!!!). 
Excellent value for money and definitely worth to plan for a stop at this hotel

Great 2 day stay to visit Salzburg an Münich

We enjoyed our stay at Garni Georgenhof in Rimsting. Prien was very short drive away for touring Lake Chiemsee's sites. Of our three week European tour, this was probably the best overall service hotel we stayed at. The hotel's owner is a terrific person who provides excellent customer service! The hotel room was very large, clean and had a balcony with fantastic views of the valley, and across to the Alps - very beautiful setting. Breakfast was first class, which included off the grill ordering. No lift to second floor or AC, but was not an inconvenience for us during this stay. Free parking and a vending machine with 2 euro beer (3 kinds!) - very convenient for sitting out on the balcony and enjoying the views!.

Owner and staff do a fantastic Job!

Superb, friendly service from the minute we got a beer at reception to the extra bacon at breakfast on the final day. Beautiful setting, great accommodation and no stone left unturned. Would highly recommend!!

Treated like Kings in the countryside

Stayed here only one night, but we will definitely come back. Isolda, our lovely host seems to have taken care of every detail for our stay. Starting from our arrival till to our last minutes in the hotel. Our room was nicely decorated and furnished, with a well chosen items for personal care and toiletries. Balcony with a view for perfect evenings and mornings (definitely worth it, see it in the picture below). The breakfast was beyond the expected and at very high standards, with own and local products. Breakfast here can be lived as an experience itself, defining this idilic place. Goodies, goodies and...goodies :) So, we will definitely come back here.

Idilic place in a wonderful setting

What a warm welcome from hostess Oberlinner - dressed in typical Bavarian dress we were welcomed and shown to our simply furnished but very comfortable room, complete with room safe, fine toiletries and excellent shower room. The hotel is off the main road so it was very peaceful.  The icing on the cake was the 5* breakfast, served in a very pleasantly decorated dining room.  No disposable napkins here but starched table linen and fine porcelain.  Food was of the highest standard and cooked to order.   Would have loved to stay longer and would not hesitate to stay here again.

A great stay in Bavaria!

My dream of Bavaria was realized by staying at this guesthouse in Rimsting. Rolling green hills, cows, no major road outside, just beautiful and peaceful. We needed a navigation system to find this place even with the flag and the big sign outside. 
The room is done is white with hardwood floors, a Vogue magazine in each room, water,  perfumed toiletries in the bathroom, and a normal (by USA standards) toilet. Some of the rooms have a balcony. There’s a good drink vending machine too. The breakfast room is elegantly set and has more than the standard fare for guesthouses (smoked salmon on avocado anyone?), seating around 30 people. I think some people come here just for the breakfasts. When we first arrived from Herrenchiemsee/Lake Chiemsee area, we were told there was an Octoberfest -Herbst Fest-  going on in neighboring Rosenheim, so we dashed off to that, but I would’ve gladly just walked around the neighborhood here. I hear there is a nearby golf course.
The woman who runs this place also sells specialty perfumes and soaps so the front desk looks like an entrance to a spa. She speaks really good English and is very charming.
