Have visited Buxtehude many times in the past 16 years or so, always staying with relatives. Due to illness we had to book a hotel in the town. We'd passed this hotel on many occasions but really didn't know what to expect. Reviews were very good so we booked in for 4 nights.

From the very start we were made welcome, and our experience of staff throughout our stay was they wanted to work there and that they wanted you to enjoy your stay. All staff I had dealings with had very good english and were very friendly. .Breakfast was a buffet with hot and cold food and you could have eggs cooked to order if you so wished. Bread rolls super fresh as was all the produce.

We had excellent accommodation (top of the building) which was clean and very comfortable. Had to walk to the last two flights of stairs but the accommodation and rooms were worth. The only criticism I have is control of the TV is still a mystery to me!! The Hotel is in the centre of the town and there are plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants to go to. The railway station was a pleasant 15 minute walk up the mainstream and we used the €9.00 rail ticket to good effect with trains direct to Hamburg and a day trip to Cuhaven.

We really enjoyed our stay here and will certainly be back again, as long as our need to come to Buxtehude is still there. Like to thank all the staff for their help this week, made us feel so welcome.

Outstanding Service, great stay

A really lovely hotel.  We stayed twice for two nights, once on the way to Denmark and once on the way back. Three nights were booked via Booking.com but, on phoning the hotel, it turned out they could fit us in the fourth night as well.  It is very central in this lovely little town, with restaurants nearby (Amadeus recommended) and 15 minutes walk to the station from where you can catch a train to Hamburg if you like big towns.  Zur Mühle has very friendly and helpful staff.  The rooms are very comfortable.  On our second visit we had a magnificent room with view over the old boat outside and the canal. On the Saturday night there was a special street celebration with merry making going on until the early hours of the morning, but the double glazing cut out almost all the noise so we slept well.  It is worth booking early!  Breakfast delicious.  There are only three parking spaces belonging to the hotel by the front plus one at the side and another two a couple of minutes walk away tucked in a corner by the stream (not the canal). Otherwise it's meter parking.

Better than Hamburg any day!

Nice hotel and a clean room with everything you normaly need . The hotel is situated in the center of Buxtehude just on the river . Really on the river . Very nice breakfast and friendly people running the place. You have to bok well in advance !

Very good hotel in a small but pittoresk city Buxtehude

Superb location if you can find the entrance round the corner of the one-way street. Car parking can be a problem as the spaces allocated to the hotel are at the back of the hotel and there is only room for 3 cars.But that notwithstanding, the rooms are beautiful, the service (from what I believed to be the owners) was first class.

Worth a stay

Had a large room with a renovated bathroom for our family of four. Beautiful view looking out on the town. Staff and owners were wonderful. Breakfast was very good with eggs cooked to order. Would definitely recommend this hotel. 

Very nice hotel 

I stayed in this hotel unexpected, rooms are spacy and bathrooms are being renovated in all rooms. Hotel is in the centre of the city at walking distance of the shops. When my car wouldnt start owners where very helpfull. Would cenrtainly stay here again.
