I enjoyed this hotel very much and can sincerely recommend it to everyone who enjoys beautiful scenery, superb food and great local wines. We had our dinners in the nearby restaurant “Altes Zollhause” and it was a bullseye: tasty food and great views from the terrace to the river Mosel. We used the hotel’s wellness area with panoramic sauna, steam room and attached roof top terrace every evening and it was an oasis of serenity after a long day of cycling and sightseeing. The hotel is meticulously clean and well kept. Everything on the breakfast was fresh and tasty including good coffee. You can also order all kind of egg dishes for breakfast and sit by the gorgeous balcony or indoors with a beautiful place setting. This is also a perfect place to practise your German, but the staff also speak fluent English if can’t remember all the words in German after a tasty evening with wine tasting in the nearby wine cellars.

Beautiful hotel, perfect location

I do tend to visit Beilstein one/two times a year and try to stay overnight so i can drink delightful wine at my favorite Zehnthauskeller. Last time i stayed at this hotel. It has parking spaces in front of the door, which is very convenient. Rooms itself are basic, but comfortable and have everything you need. The most fabulous part of the hotel is a small spa area. It is really a jewel. Two saunas, one of which has the view of the Metternich Ruins and cozy area directly outside with Ruins/Moselle view. There is also a fridge full of goodies (i e wine, beer and so on) which you can enjoy directly on the terrace outside- sensational. The only thing that could be improved in my opinion (at least a little bit), is breakfast. I don’t know, maybe it was due to Covid but the choice wasn’t so good. Nonetheless I’ll stay again (probably this year) and can certainly recommend. 

One of the best hotels in Beilstein 

We had a friendly welcome from one of the owners when we arrived. Our bedroom was spacious, with reasonable views from the balcony. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel had a quiet, relaxed vibe and was an ideal place to spend two nights at the end of a week of walking in the Moselle Valley.

A friendly small hotel

Located in the very pretty town of Beilstein adjacent to the river Mosel. We opted to stay here away from the major towns, such as Cochem, and we were not disapointed. A little difficult to locate at first, almost every hotel & restaurant appears to bear the name Lipman, but we found it in the end.

Parking - Not easy but, it is available and free.

Breakfast - Excellent. A good choice & unhurried. We ate most mornings on the terrace looking into the town & up at the castle.

Location - Excellent. Great little town with ample good restaurants. Excellent road access along the river and the ferry to Cochem stops here (well worth getting on board for some relaxed sight seeing & a trip through the lock gates).

Accomodation - Our room & bathroom was very clean and the size was adequate for a 3 night stay.

Overall - Clean, friendly enough, excellent breakfast & location.

Revommended

We were most impressed with this old hotel.  It was clean and well appointed.  The family owns several of the other hotels in town along with two restaurants. We sampl Danone and liked the food. The castle is an easy walk from the hotel.  Our room had a balcony looking at the castle which was a pleasant attribute!

Friendly family run business

From the view from your deck of an old castle to friendly service this was a great place to stay . I would recommend half board as the breakfast was very good and the dinner offerings were exceptional. The wine tasting was interesting, all in German and those , like me, language challenged may struggle , but with great wine, food and music the event was great fun.

If you haven't spent a night in Beilstein, you are missing a great experience as it is a fairytale type town with the castle on a hill located right on the Mosel river. 

The experience is also a great value. Please note that the town is off the train route so to visit you need a rental car unless you want to deal with biking or the ferry from Cochem a few miles down the road, which would require additional planning. With a rental car the town allows easy access to all the other great towns and castles in the Mosel and Rhine.

Enchanting hotel, magical town

We ment to go further to Trier direction but village was so nice that we desidided to try to find nice place to sleep here. Hotel Lipmann 'Am Klosterberg' looked so nice that we asked if they have room for two nights? Yes they had and room was big, clean and what a scenery from balcony to castle. 

Hotel owner and all the staff spoke very good English so no need to use my shaky German language. This is place where we like to go once again.
