The location is perfect, and actually pretty photogenic. When we arrived, the owner helped us take the baggage upstairs to our room and explained how everything worked. He was very friendly and showed us around the premises. The room we had was pretty large, with a nice bathroom. There was a bath, but sadly no shower. There is a very large garden with quite a lot of places to sit down and enjoy the peace. The swimming pool could be a bit cleaner, but otherwise the chairs and everything was OK. Bath towels for the swimming pool are provided by the owners. We were there when it was pretty hot, but there are enough possibilities to sit in the shadow at the swimming pool (or anywhere else, for that matter).
WiFi was provided and worked like a charm, although I didn't use it a lot. The breakfast was good! I could really recommend this place, we enjoyed our two nights here.

Relaxing

We stayed here just for one night...wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived at nearly 1 AM and the owner was kind enough to wait up for us, come out and help with our luggage, and take our breakfast order ;).  The building is very charming and the land around is beautifully maintained. We had a lovely view of the property and the village below. Delicious breakfast with an amazing fruit salad and fresh breads and pastries. 
We want to go back so we can enjoy the property and pool more!

The essence of Provence

We booked here because of all the rave reviews on TA.   Our experience was different. 
 
Warm welcome? Hardly--except for the two very friendly cats. I had expected a king size bed, and when Sylviane realized I was disappointed in the bed in the Lavender room, she offered us the room with a larger bed – for an extra 30 euro a day or for the stay - it was not clear, even though no other guest appeared the whole time we were there, and even though we had paid in full in advance two months ahead.  And there was no discount for the fact the pool was closed for the season.  Spa?  We never heard of one.  Tour of grounds?  Never offered.  Great breakfast? It was plentiful—with good breads made by Sylvaine--but nothing hot was offered except the coffee and milk.  Seeing their beautiful house?  Only a glimpse when the fuse blew in our room.  Dinner at the house?  We were not told of this possibility.
 
Still, the bed was comfortable.  The room was spacious, clean and reasonably well equipped.  (Note that all four rooms are on the second floor with no elevator.)  The grounds are lovely, and the price is reasonable.  The description of the buildings and grounds from other reviewers is accurate.  Plus, the location a few km. from Cadenet was relatively convenient for day trips around the Louberon, and we very much enjoyed a couple of excellent and reasonably priced meals in the village, which we might not have done if we had stayed somewhere else.  
 
I think our La Bastide experience would have been more memorable had we been there in the summer when the pool was open, and, even more, if we spoke fluent French.  Sylviane did make a real effort to be friendly and helpful after a day or two—she told us how to find a goat farm to get the freshest goat cheese after my wife asked if she might include some chevre at breakfast - but our conversations were a bit awkward and limited by my non-French and Stephanie’s limited French. You will note that most of the rave reviews are from Europeans.  I should say, though, that her husband did get up relatively early to help with the luggage.
