Arctic SnowHotel & Glass Igloos

We took the tour and dinning at the Ice Restaurant. 
I have to say it exceeded my expectations!
The place is wonderful, the food was delicious and the kindness and attention from the staff is excellent! I recommended fully and it's a once in a lifetime opportunity.

We opted for the hotel tour of the ice hotel + dinner in the ice restaurant. The hotel is incredible: every room has a different style with arts built with snow and ice, the kids - and parents - were in awe as we entered each room and walked around the premises. The dinner was delicious - I recommend the Elk among all dishes available, the Salmon did disappoint a bit - although of course very cold, but that's part of the experience!

Since we drove to the hotel, we took time after the dinner to play in the snow and slide with the many sledding provided and took our chance to see the norther lights from the skybar upper deck. The entire family loved every minute.

We went there with our kids aged 28 and 25 at the end of January 2023. We went there to enjoy the nature of lapland, reindeers and of cause northern lights. We arrived there by the Santa Claus train from Helsinki early in the mornind and were picked up by the hotel shuttle at the train station of Rovaniemi. 
We stayed in two of the glass igloos (one for us and one for our kids next to our igloo).  These igloos are equipped wirth a bedroom and a bathroom with a shower. From  the igloos you have a free view of the sky. If you are lucky you see the northern lights right from your bed. The hotel offers a so-called "aurora alarm" that wakes you up when northern lights are visible, but you can also switch off the alarm if you don`t want to be disturbed. 
The hotel is rebuit every year from snow and offers several unique hotel rooms created from ice and snow, together with a chapel, a restaurant and a hotel bar from ice. Every hotel room is special and offers a warm equipment for the people who stay there. I think that it will be a great experience to stay in one of these rooms. 
They also have a traditional restaurant where they serve traditional food, e.g. salmon and reindeer. There is also a hotel bar (not built from ice) in this building, whre you can also stay on the first floor.  
The hotel is located near a lake that was frozen during our stay. A lot of activities are offered, e.g. a visit to Santa Clause Village near Rovaniemi, visit of a reindeer farm with ride on a reindeer sled, icefishing, snowmobile fun, etc.      

We gathered our courage to sleep in snow hotel and we got just an amazing experience. The beds , sculptures are just amazing. How one can sleep in snow bed. Ohhh it is just amazing to sleep in temperature 0- -5. If u get uncomfortable sleeping in ice bed then they have kept the provision of bunk beds in locker rooms. Will never forget this night.

We stayed at the Arctic Snow Hotel and Glass Igloos on their 5 senses of ice package. It was a brilliant experience and although we didn’t see the Northern Lights because of the cloud cover we had so much else to do that it didn’t detract from the holiday. Highly recommended - especially the glass igloo but to sleep overnight in an ice room was pretty memorable - and yes, we were warm enough!

We arrived on 15th January for a three night stay. We had one night in the Snow Hotel and two nights in a glass igloo. Staying in the Snow Hotel is a unique experience. We were disappointed that that the standard rooms are quite plain - you need to book a suite to have one of the elaborate ice sculptures. We were warm enough in the provided sleeping bags and because it is not feasible to keep your personal items in the room, they provide lockers in a shared portakabin facility. The glass igloos are very cute and the beds very comfortable. The food offer is very limited and it would be to the resort’s and customers mutual benefit,  if a light snack menu was available in the Log restaurant. The staff really made this trip special. Paula is the head chef in the Kota restaurant and she organises the salmon cooking over the log fire. This is a highly skilled technique - the salmon was beautifully cooked but this was because of her attention to detail and motivation to provide a perfect dish. She also provides excellent customer care. Maria and Anna were notable on reception. Maria was proactive in helping us plan activities and then delightfully served us dinner in the Log restaurant. Anna was very patient in checking timings of activity start times. We also went on the night time snowmobile activity on evening of 16th January. Two staff coached us in the use of the snowmobile and then escorted us on our journey through the dark snow laden trees, lit up by our vehicle’s lights. This was magical. At a halfway point, they quickly started three campfires and we feasted on sausages, pastries and hot berry juice. These two staff were very competent and professional in leading the snowmobile convoy. I can’t recall both of their names but they were possibly Hannah and Emalay. Luis also lead us on a snowshoe trek and we were also treated to a warming snack and camp fire at a mid point (the resort cleverly sends staff ahead for this one to start the fire). Luis provided us with lots of local knowledge and also executed everything professionally.  The only downside was the sauna situation. This was our first trip to Finland and we were looking forward to having our first Finnish sauna . But you could only use the sauna for one hour per day and this was not mixed, so you couldn’t be together. The resort was encouraging guests to purchase private sauna experiences - these were an astronomical price, and annoying when one considers how expensive it is to stay at this resort anyway. However, this is indeed a very special place.

We experienced Fin sauna, snow sauna and hot tub. Sauna master seems to be professional and noticed us perfectly.
Also per booket dinner was cool. They are making salmon at open fire whitch makes it special. 
Iglus are big and confortable and aurora borealis alarm is big plus, thats why we spotted thwm as well.
Snowhotel is also experience of lifetine, dont miss it when around.

Loved the stay at this wonderful igloo. The room was perfect with perfect view. The aurora alarm system was great which helped us in viewing the northern lights from our igloo. But still we went outside to watch the beautiful phenomenon. The room is small but sufficient enough to keep luggage and jus to move around. The bed was comfy. The room had kettle as well as tea and coffee amenities.

The reception staff were really helpful and friendly and they did find us a way out to sort out dinner problems. Having only a fixed menu but still for two days the chef agreed and the reception staff were nice at negotiating and helping us sort out our dinner meal and provide with some thing we loved to have.

The driver who helped us with transportation was also good and friendly.

A perfect place to be at Rovaneimi to watch the Auroras and yes would definitely come back !!!

Loved our stay at the Glass Igloos in Feb 2022. It was a beautiful property, and staying in a glass igloo was a unique experience we will never forget. It was a bit cramped, but that's expected. Sauna and spa experiences (especially the ice sauna) were very unique and fun. Restaurant was good but not excellent. Service was very friendly and accommodating throughout.

Loved our stay in the glass igloo - what an unusual experience and the best way to see the Northern Lights (albeit we were unlucky when we were there and it was cloudy!)  We thought the range of activities on offer was really great, even lots of sledges, toboggans and ways to explore the frozen lake for free which was a lot of fun. The dinner in the ice hotel was delicious, so much better than we thought it would be as you're a captive audience but they made it so special.  The communication beforehand about all the activities on offer was excellent and very thorough.  Would love to go back!
