Stayed two nights. The place wasn't that full, luckily, and it is near the ferry terminal (I could see the ferries from my window and part of the sea) and about a 10-15 minute walk to the town centre. Obviously it is not a fancy place and the bathrooms, including showers, are shared (very common in Scandinavia) but the room I had was nice. It was on the top floor, quite a big room with 3 beds, and away from anyone else so it was always quiet and had a nice view over the roof. Th only thing is, it was very hot because of its location on the roof so you needed a fan (the room had 3)but other than that, no issues and staff was friendly.

Not fancy but nice

The keeper was friendly and really nice to us. He let us rent bikes for 12 euros for two days. Normally the price is 24 euros for 2 days. He also spoke good finnish. Breakfast was included in the price, that was convenient. Rooms were simple looking but clean. A good place for low budget travelling.

Nothing fancy, but with a good service and the hotel is close to centre and hamn

The place is basic and very near the ferry terminal. But as we came in a lull period, there weren't anyone around and we couldn't leave our bags with the property. So we sat at the terminal till the check-in time, which pretty much sucks... bike rental is 12Euros, i checked around later and found another accommodation which offers free bike use with the same price as the Gasthem Kronan. No complains about the cleanliness, it is basic and clean. But there is a lack of kitchen amenities if you are looking to cook your own dinner.

Very ascetic accommodation. Shared toilets and shower. All the sounds could be heard throughout the house. The whole building needs renovation. I'll sleep for one night, but I wouldn't stay longer. Breakfast was included in the price of the accommodation, but by the time we had eaten, the porridge had run out and there were a few pieces of bread left. There was yogurt, but not lactose-free. A plus for rentable bicycles with which you can easily move around the city.

One night only

I did not like this place at all. It was old and worn down. The cleanliness left a lot to desire for. I'm very allergic to dust and moisture/damp/mold and I'm pretty sure the place had all of it. I do not have much positive to say about it in general to be honest. It gave me the childhood camp feeling, which itself wasn't bad but still, I expect some standards, especially in Finland.

The location is ok. It's a bit outside the city centre but Mariehamn is a tiny place so it takes like 10 minutes to walk everywhere. 

But yeah, I have nothing more to say since there was nothing I liked about this place.

I would never again live here

Never have I been treated like this as a customer! If you want to experience Fawlty Towers in real life, this is the place! 
Our booked room smelled like a toilet and I had to pay extra, AFTER the visit, for room change. When complaining about this, over email, I got barred! As I would ever set my foot in this joint. That pretty much sums it up.

Avoid this place

Drunken people screaming and banging doors all night & no staff to control any of it. Poor sound insulation & very dirty, we found a big lump of dog hair under the bed on arrival. Breakfast was not very good and the showers are terrible. Good location, but then again anywhere would be good location on such a small town.
