Hotel has a great location in the heart of Hamina. Hotel is very small, only 12 rooms and all rooms are located in 3rd floor at the same hallway. No lift.
Room is quite OK, beds are comfy. We didn't hear any noise from other rooms. Hotel is little bit dirty and threadbare. No breakfast in the hotel but breakfast coupons offered to the cafeteria nearby. Free wifi.

Great location, small hotel, breakfast coupons

The building looks charming from the outside, but the renovated rooms are, while clean and functional, soulless compared to what you'd expect based on the facade. 

Didn't get a good feeling seeing that the reception was at the "räkälä" style bar in the basement or when noticing the nightclub in the middle floor, but in the end the room we stayed in was clean, quiet, and served its purpose adequately. It was a Saturday night but there was absolutely no noise we could hear from the lower floors, props for that!

Breakfast is organized by a voucher to the nearby cafeteria. It was modest in size (juice and sandwich basically) but the cafeteria had a nice feel to it and the food was good. 

If you're in Hamina to see the old center, the location is perfect for that. So it's an ok hotel, just don't expect any fancy old-style interior or a fancy restaurant. Service level is more hostel than hotel.

Functional

I stayed with my wife and two kids at the Hamina Seurahuone for a night in July as we visiting Hamina and I had a vague memory of an 'old school' hotel with charming shabby rooms and not-so-modern atmosphere.
Well, those memories were twenty years old. The place proved to be something quite different. Apparently the insides have been totally redone some years ago and rooms are located in hospital-looking corridor nowadays. The room we had was clean, yes, but had a decor closer to an office room than a bedroom.
Sleeping was a disaster, as the air conditioning was broken — a fact the personnel were kind enough to admit not having told us in advance; +26c outside felt quite cool compared to the room. Moreover, the walls were so thin that one was able to enjoy the full sound effect details of the anatomical exercise of the couple next door. Thank God the kids had fallen asleep already by then.
Next morning when I mentioned about the non-existing air conditioning and asked for a refund, the receptionist said his boss had instructed him to ask us to fill a complaint form on the coop website. Fortunately the youngster had the decency of disobeying these ridiculous orders and gave us a discount instead, saying: "I don't care, it's my last day at work anyways." :DD
One more point: no breakfast is included. Instead one has the luxury of a food voucher to a gas station nearby. Yummie! :/

Terrible hotel, terrible service...

Don't get fooled by the fancy Finnish "Seurahuone" title. It sounded like a safe bet when recerving, but this place would be more suitable to bring some drunk from a donwstairs bar than for business travel, not even to mention holiday. The reception is in a bar downstairs and the staff is openly surprised if you are there for a hotel. There is no restaurant of sauna, the breakfast vouchure is valid in a nearby trucking gas station. The rooms are small and somewhat clean at least but really it's a place to pick up some desperate feelings. They still charge the price of a decent hotel, 100€ a night at the time of writing.
