This is a lovely hotel and indeed like family as in other reviews. Our driver notified the staff when we were arriving, and although close to midnight, they were already on the street when we pulled up,  took our bags, were awaiting our check-in  and, most importantly, bottled water and CHILLED glasses awaited In our room! It. is a boutique hotel so the room was small, but having the balcony made a big difference. Bed made and towels changed daily. The hotel only has 11 rooms and did not appear fully occupied. Breakfast was ready for us the next day with double clothed table but on each day was scrambled eggs, smoothie, and French bread. The place has antiques/vintage items throughout, and very good security. When we had to leave at 5:00 AM  to catch our flight, the owner offered to prepare breakfast prior to our departure, and although we declined, was there to assist at that time although we could leave securely on our own. This was very impressive. My only disappointment was that the bar was no longer available and it was not a true restaurant, but nonetheless,  I would highly recommend.

Wonderful service, family atmosphere

My family of four loved this charming accommodation. We are not usually social, but we felt like family. The owner gave us honest insider ideas about where to eat and visit and made sure every need was met while we were there, even sharing his recipe for one of our favorite dishes. We ate there every night and the courtyard had the perfect ambiance for a relaxing evening of sharing stories about our day - plus the food was excellent! We stayed for two nights, then went to the Amazon, then back again for two more nights. We preferred the rooms inside the building to the ones off the courtyard - they were especially lovely - but our needs were fully met for both stays. 

Charming accommodation with friendly owner

Fantastic location, friendly staff, food was excellent especially the fresh fish.  Rooms are comfy and clean.  Can't wait to go back.  English spoken by host.

Very nice Quito experience. 

I stayed here for 3 nights during my stay in Quito. Delightful, quaint hotel with cozy little rooms and amazingly kind and nice staff. Though it is not in the center of town, I would stay here again. The rooms were really clean and nice, and the breakfasts were so tasty. Loved how kind everyone was to me.

Wonderful little hotel

A great location and even nicer hotel. The employees went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast and service was nice. The room was cozy. Quito is a busy city and la Rabida was a nice escape. Good restaurant are nearby.

Perfect place to stay on Quito

Wonderful stay at Hostal de la Rabida! We stayed for one night, made the mistake of booking in another place for the second night. The other place was so awful, we cancelled our reservation, forfeited our payment, and retreated right back to this place. 

The new owner Daniel is extremely kind and helpful, ensuring that we had everything we needed to feel very welcome and comfortable. 

The bed was very comfortable, the shower was powerful and hot hot hot. The place was very clean without being fumigated by crazy amounts of disinfectants that we experienced everywhere else. 

We found a great Indian restaurant - Chandani Tandoori ~ a short walk away with amazing food and even better prices. We even went there twice!  We also found a wonderful vegan/vegetarian cafe with great food and good vibes called El Maple that was also within walking distance. We ate there 3 times in 24 hours!

I would highly recommend a stay at Hostal de la Rabida to anyone traveling through Quito!

A Gem!

Wonderful stay at Hotel Rabida. As a solo traveler, I appreciated the “house” feel. Stayed 3 nights and every morning Xavier made a great breakfast with eggs, toast, and fresh fruit. His recommendations for what to see and how to get there were super helpful! Overall, I would definitely recommend Rabida for anyone looking for a quaint, hospitable, and friendly hotel experience!

Felt like a home

The most beautiful place to stay at Quito, and feels like home.    I spend several days with my daughters, visiting the capital, and we enjoyed the fireplace and the comfortable sofas at the end of the day.    Breakfast is great and the staff deserves an applause because they always were friendly and were very attentive to see how improve our experience.   Highly recommended.  Very well located.   

The best! 

We loved this sweet place and stayed multiple nights. The staff is amazing, even making us breakfast early one day because we had a booked a trip.  The food was excellent (eggs to order, etc.) and always delicious fresh fruit. We had a really nice dinner including wine and delicious dessert (Ecuadorian chocolate is the best).  The manager was so helpful in arranging things and recommending things to see and do.

The service was incredibly personal. We had to move to a larger much more expensive hotel in Old Town because of another trip and were so sad to leave Rabida.  The location in La Mariscal gets you out of the noise and traffic of Old Town but we were able to walk easily into Old Town and see lots of sights en route.  It was close to our biking guide and also restaurants.  A great value and friendly, cozy, and home-like (a living room with fireplace in the lobby near the dining area .  A highlight of our trip to Ecuador.

One of the nicest small hotels we've every stayed in

Good location in central Quito...easy to walk to old town or catch taxi ($2). Room was clean and comfortable. nice social areas to relax.
