This family own hotel is off the beaten path but within walking distance to everything (10 minutes to downtown). I liked been in a neighborhood as opposed to only tourists. Quite place and WIFI included. Breakfast was excellent. Cold purified water available. Also good food stores and restaurants across the street. Rooms are cosy, large, very clean and with AC. They clean the room and bathroom daily and I got new toiletries also. The owners helped me a lot organizing various tours and ferry ticket booking. Very good value for the money.

Very good value for the money

Very clean and spacious rooms with friendly and well informed staff.
The check-in, however, did not work very well. We were waiting for 1 h in front of the hotel without any notice. Apart from this the stay was very pleasant.

Very pleasant stay!

Casa Cascada offers apartment style accommodation, which is awesome for families.  Parents and kids can have separate rooms and there's a common living space and kitchen so the adults can stay up a bit later than the kids in the evening.

We booked a large 2 bedroom apartment with Casa Cascada for our party of 8.  There was a bit of confusion regarding the number and size of the beds and the children we had with us.  

When we arrived, there was only sleeping spaces for 6... 

After some discussion with the staff they offered us a second apartment for $45/night.  This allowed everyone to sleep very comfortably and didn't break our budget.

The stay was nice.  The apartments were reasonably outfitted with fridge, stove, pots, pans, cutlery, etc.  We were lucky we had the 2nd apartment because there were a few things (a large bowl for example) that our kitchen was lacking, but we just borrowed it from the other apartment.

The beds were reasonably comfortable, everything was clean and kept that way with daily housekeeping.  The furniture in the living space was not very comfortable to sit on, so we often chose to sit at the kitchen table instead.

The bathroom was basic but had ample hot water.

The hotel has a water cooler available on the top floor where you can fill your bottles with safe drinking water.  (a huge plus!!)

The wifi was intermittent at best.  If you need a good connection on the Galapagos, it's advisable to get a SIM card in your phone because the wifi is pretty crappy everywhere.

The location of Casa Cascada isn't the best.  It's about a 20 minute walk from the pier and the tourist centre of town.  If you want to take a taxi, it's really cheap at around $1 per ride anywhere in town. That being said, it's a lot more local and quieter as a result (aside from the barking dogs). 

There are a couple small tiendas across the street where you can buy basic fruits, vegetables, milk, etc.  If you need more, there's a larger supermarket down by the pier in town that has a WAY better selection.

One of the highlights of our stay was the small bakery just around the corner.  The lady there was awesome and we bought buns, croissants, donuts, etc. there daily.

I would recommend this place for a family stay.  The people were good, it's got a local feel and it was reasonably priced.

Great family stay in Puerto Ayora

This place was the perfect spot for our short time on the Galapagos. The rooms were great sized and really clean and really comfortable with the a/c unit. The showers had great water pressure and got really warm. The breakfast was really tasty and a great value. The best part was that Sandro (the owner) was able to help us book all of our day tours because he is also a guide. It was so convenient having him set up our excursions at a fair price and also give us local recommendations... 

He and his family took amazing care of us, even riding with us in the taxi to the ferry to Isabella island, to make sure we were all set with everything... His knowledge of the Galapagos is second to none as he grew up there and has lived there his whole life!

Really great stay! Sandro and his family were amazing

We staid 2 nights here, but we decided to change a hostel afterwards. To start with the positives the rooms are very big and clean. I also liked the location, which is not in the touristic area, so you get to interact and support the local community more. The main reason why decided to change a hostel were..dogs. There are at least 10 of them in the houses around the hostel and they bark the whole night long! I am usually a dog lover, but these dogs went on and on and we didn't get to sleep at all. When we told the owners that we booked other place for the last night they seemed a bit upset (even though we staid 2 nights we booked here) and said they could have put us in the more quite room. They also agreed to book a boat for us to isabela the next morning, but around 18:00 when we asked at what time we need to be at the harbor they said that we left their hostel and didn't confirm the boat (which we did twice, once on the morning and later at 16:00), so they cancelled it. Luckily we managed to arrange it ourselves (and cheaper), but this didn't leave the best impression.
