The rooms facing the street are clean and large with a balcony (good for people watching).  Linens changed daily.  Small breakfast (eggs, toast, juice, coffee) included (though we found better coffee at Cafe Lojano).  Staff are friendly and helpful.  Credit cards are accepted.  Free wifi + two computers for guests in 1st floor hall. No phones, ice or vending machines.  Spanish is necessary(!), since staff speak very limited english. The best part is an easy two block walk to Parque Calderon (main square). This was our second trip.  Stayed two weeks and were NOT anxious to leave.

Great inexpensive hotel right downtown

Traveled with tour groups and some people had those grand rooms pictured, but not ALL rooms look like that. The basic rooms are very simple, but thats all you really need for your stay. Clean and quiet since the rooms are enclosed inside instead of lining the main street front. Wifi is great throughout the whole hotel. There are computers available. Friendly staff, but not all speak english. Free drinking water, tea, and coffee. Hotel is only 2 blocks from the main square and cathedral, and then 4 blocks in the other direction from the market (farm food and prepared food). I can't compare price since my stay was part of tour.

Great location and good size rooms. The staff were helpful with bar recommendations too. Easy to walk to places from here. Questionable breakfast but similar to other places we stayed in South America.

Great location and nice rooms

THis Hostal is very cleaned and the staff are very helpful.. I would recommend to any one..It is right in the center of town so nice. Easy place to do shopping and site see. The Catherdal is not far as well as the night life...I would love to go back soon.
