I recently spent a week at Playa Vista Azul and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, the staff was extremely friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The facilities are impressive; the rooms are spacious, clean, and have spectacular views of the sea.

The daily activities and nightly entertainment were a lot of fun and kept everyone engaged. The beach is beautiful and well-maintained, ideal for swimming or simply lounging on the sand.

The best vacation of my life in this wonderful hotel

I’ll begin by my conclusion, last September was our third time at the Hotel Playa Vista Azul Varadero. It was also the first time I was going back to a hotel three times the same year and I can’t wait to go back. 

I have a particularly stressful job and I was looking for the perfect balance of fun and relaxation. This hotel set-up and localization is perfectly meeting my needs. The hotel is very well managed and managing staff performs their duty professionally. Small issues get resolved quickly by maintenance staff proud to be of help. 

20 minutes away from Varadero, call a taxy to explore Varadero in an old American convertible and have fun and dance in a club or have diner at the excellent restaurants La Terrasa or La Bodeguita Del Medio. Cuba is a destination where it is safe to take a stroll at any hour of the day or night, this means a lot to us.

Regular rooms are roomy and comfortable, but the Premium formula offer the best experience you could wish for, featuring even more comfortable rooms, exclusive restaurants, bars, and discounts for an incredibly relaxing massage at the onsite spa. You’ll have a chance to rely on José Raul Novejil Torres and his marvelous wife if you have questions as well as a majordome service. Last but not least, this also provides an ‘’a la carte’’ experience for all meals. This hotel provided, by far, the best food experience I had the chance to experience in Cuba. The level of service of the staff at the Coral restaurant is second none. My wife almost had to fight with me to get me to try other restaurants.

Although I don’t usually participate much to the animation activities, I was charmed by the incredible animation team. Take a look at the activities schedule and be sure participate to a few to meet great people and look at beautiful choreographies. Stop by the bar near the theatre to say hi and get a drink from Lisdian. Activities at the beach are a must too, meet my friend Hanny, with a smile brighter than the Cuban sun, she greatly helped my wife and I progress in Spanish and teach us a lot about Cuban food specialties and flora. Congratulations to Mister Roiny Rodrigez Rosales for the great work at managing the animation team. You are loved by your team speaks for itself.

The first time I went to Cuba was to discover it’s the warm sun, beautiful beaches, calm sea. I now return to Cuba to visit my friends and meet Cuban’s proud, creative and resilient people who never fail to warm my heart in a way that eclipses even the sun.

I can’t wait to go back!

I was super impressed by the beauty of this hotel. The view from the main lobby to the beach is a 14/10!! The resort was set up to meet with other travelers with many areas to have a quiet conversation. The beach, the deck, the pool, restaurants, the main lobby, the bars and walks along the beach. The staff are pleasant and hard working. Omelet and meat grill had fantastic workers. Next year I may stay for 2 weeks. There were no shortages of beer, wine, eggs, meat, water and other items but I heard that was the case at other resorts close by.

Best hotel in varadero

Had a great stay in Cuba at Playa Vista Azul. Can’t wait to go back as soon as I can. The beaches are great and the food is good for Cuba. However, the hotel staff really make the experiences. The bartenders, cleaning staff and especially the entertainment team are all incredible. Shoutout to Gustavo and the whole team for a great time, especially New Year’s Eve!

C'etait notre deuxieme fois au playa vista azul section privilege. Que dire de plus que ce fut extraordinaire. La manager Arasay coffi nous a tout organiser et nous avons été traiter comme des rois. Nous avons fait la rencontre de personnes exceptionnelle et avons partager de beaux et bons moments avec eux. Notre femme de chambre Taimara a fait un travail magnifique. Le staff au restaurent a la carte Coral *dream team* Magdenis, doxana, Katy, Daylen sont incomparable. 
Nos majordome Rene, Jose, Diane, Yuri etc. veillaient a tout les jours que nous ayons tout ce que nous avions besoin. Merci a Yanelys et sulena au spa pour la pedicure de mon mari qui lui a fait de beaux pieds tout neufs. 
La nourriture était tres bonne(langouste, crevettes, saumon, steak, poulet, porc)
et nous n'avons pas manque de vin ni de champagne😉🍾.
Merci a nos barman Carlos, Raymel, Onay, Antonio, Jimmy et Randy qui connaissent parfaitement nos préférences.
Bref nous avons eu de magnifiques vacances reposantes.

This was our second time at playa vista azul privilege section. What more can I say than it was extraordinary. The manager Arasay Coffi organized everything for us and we were treated like kings. We met exceptional people and shared beautiful and good times with them. Our maid Taimara did a magnificent job. The staff at the Coral a la carte restaurant *dream team* Magdenis, Doxana, Katy, Daylen are incomparable.
Our butlers Rene, Jose, Diane, Yuri etc. made sure we had everything we needed every day. Thanks to Yanelys and Sulena at the spa for my husband's pedicure which gave him beautiful, brand new feet.
The food was very good (lobster, shrimp, salmon, steak, chicken, pork)
and we have no shortage of wine or champagne😉🍾.
Thanks to our bartenders Carlos, Raymel, Onay, Antonio, Jimmy and Randy who know our preferences perfectly.
In short, we had a wonderful, relaxing vacation....

Un coin de paradis, traitement royal.

The hotel has it all. Beaches to relax. Beaches to party. Infinity pool to relax. Pool to party. Entertainment all the time. The shows at night are absolutely incredible. One night there was a Michael Jackson impersonater and a group of dancers and I was blown away. Better than anything I ever seen back in Canada. The staff goes above and beyond. I have to give a shout out to the entertainment team. The led stretches at the beach. Dances. Came up to say hello. They led the parties at the pool. And they always had smiles on their faces and had so much positive energy. And this made my day.

Lulu! - entertainment - got us up dancing and helped us shake our butts better that's for sure. 🙏

My favorite part. The people. The staff.

We read many reviews and heard many comments about Varadero Cuba which caused us to avoid visiting compared to our many  satisfied trips to Puerto Plata Dominican. Anywhere we travel, the food has to be good along with a clean walking beach but we often heard that the food was bland with no variety. Every resort anywhere varies in what is offered in rooms, food, entertainment, pools, beach, bars and friendliness.
Sometimes you just have to experience things for yourself and understand that a 3rd world country is not like what you are use to at home. Your holiday adventure also includes a different culture and way of life. The following is our take on our first trip to Varadero for a two week holiday from Canada:
PLAYA VISTA AZUL RESORT
- newer buildings, hot water with pressure, clean room, harder mattress, not all pathways are lit, large lobby with entertainment, excellent view from infinity pool over looking the ocean, 3 main bars, 3 ale carte restaurants, large buffet with great food choices, coffee served only at breakfast. Benny Cafe for special coffees, Some staff is friendly...kudos to Mirunga, Angel and Lisdian at the Theatre premium bar, entertainment show does not start to 10pm and the speaker volume is way to loud which causes distortion. No info sheet on arrival so ask and listen to others, A/C does not work if patio door is open, small and large beach on each side of lobby...watch out for lava rock under sand.
VARADERO SHOPPING STREET
- worth the ride by taxi or hop/off bus for $5 all day. WARNING.....watch out for scamming carriage horse rides. You think your price is for the ride but the driver wants the price per person when ready to pay, many restaurants, shops, great park/lake with activities, Al Copone's house turned into a restaurant, Beetles bar,
FOOD
- the resort had great food in taste and options, french fries/hot dogs available at snack bar by pool bar, buffet lunch at 1pm and supper at 6:30pm, ale carte at 6pm....Itallian the best, buffet has live entertainment and food themes throughout the week, toasters don't have full power so put your bread through 5 times to toast. serving lines are not very organized.
AIRPORT
- be prepared to go through security on arrival, washroom tipping, no A/C so pay for the VIP lounge for comfort, restaurants and shops on departure floor
CURRENCY
- you can change $$ to CUP peso but banks, internet and shops all have a different exchange rate. We paid/tipped with USD or CDN. You can use Canadian coins but the people cannot exchange at a bank so they may ask you if you want to take home a few coins in exchange for paper money. Always ask how much in CDN or USD to decide if it is worth the purchase.

After all said, we would return to this resort or maybe closer to town because the beaches are suppose to be longer and no lava rock. No rain, sunny most days 30cel.


Varadero Cuba has much to offer at affordable prices. Will return at another time to see and do more than we did this ti

I went there with my family, the overall service is very good but I need to say the animation team is very friendly and they make sure everyone laugh and have the best time, also showing how the Cuban culture looks like, Thank you so much Fredes, Giselle and Ibis!!! You won’t regret booking for this vacations and you deserve it too 🤗
