I agreed with the previous post, its awful. Im from Costa Rica capital and I expected a better hotel, because I knew the Wagelia Espino Blanco but this is a hostal no amenities a very little pool, 14 inches tv very small, beds uncomfortable and very poor the decorations of the room, there is no food 

Hostel

The only services are the room itself and the pool. Breakfast is at the sister hotel in the center (so better come by car). This should be classified as a HOSTEL. Luckily there was no exposed pipelines or other problems with our stay (probably fixed those things) so the kids loved the pool. 

The room was OK, but the dirty curtains and really old bed covers disturbed us quite a bit. However, none of the problems that were mentioned in the previous posts were in our room. 

The location is suburban, so I definitely recommend this for guests with cars to be able to get around and to the center.

Don't have too high expectations

I wish I'd read the one other review of this hotel before staying there; other hotels in town were full, but had I known what the Wagelia was like before we booked in I'd have driven a long way to find somewhere else.
The rooms are awful, the bar and restaurant were closed (whether permanently or not I don't know) and the pool they proudly display in gude books and brochures was empty, and surrounded by broken tiles and exposed pipework. it is without doubt the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
But its sister hotel, the Wagelia Turrialba, in the centre of town, is really very pleasant.

The place should be condemned

This was a really awful hotel, the room was dirty, the water was tepid at best and the pressure almost nil. The second evening we had a rain storm (very common in this area) and the roof leaked badly, right by a light fitting. The receptionist was not surprised and gave the impression that this happens a lot. We were moved to an even shabbier ground floor room which was very damp, the hot water was no better but there was better water pressure. There was however exposed wiring above the shower head. The building was basically not up to the standard required for the climate in this area. We had dinner at the sister hotel in the centre of town and that looked considerably better. Avoid this place!!
